CATEGORY-DEFINING AERO ENGINEERINGOur innovative systems approach ensures that all aspects of the S5 work together to

maximize performance. The Dropped Downtube and Shielding Seatstays, for instance,

are designed to diminish drag at precise locations on the frame. Then there’s the Aero

AB04 Handlebar, which saves 4.4 Watts over a standard round bar and is compatible

with 31.8mm stems. It’s all been proven in the wind tunnel, and then ride-tested to

ensure performance where it counts: Out on real-world roads.

Every rider wants to feel more connected to their bike and to the

road, and here the S5 delivers again. A 6% increase in bottom-

bracket stiffness makes the most of every pedal stroke, while a

35% increase in headtube torsional stiffness and 17% increase in

lateral fork stiffness encourages a more aggressive riding position

by boosting confidence in cornering and overall handling.

very well,” Cummings says. “First of all the
