There are seven different kinds of meshes are available in our product line with various widths. 3’, 4’ and 5’ are common, however, we also have 9’ meshes. Meshes have been classified based on the material type used to manufacture. For example, fiberglass, is made of very thin strips of glass material and are coated with the poly-vinyl for flexibility and color. Similarly, stainless steel, bronze, aluminum, pet mesh, tough mesh, polyester coated with vinyl meshes are made of using variety of material. The product lines of Phifer’s insect screening protects against disease-carrying insects, while offering good visibility and ventilation. We also have products for different climates and applications.

FIBERGLASS MESHFiberglass mesh is the most commonly used mesh and the most economical one too among all mesh typesFiberglass insect screen is also called Velcro fit or netlon or nylon net. The core of the fabric is made of glass and is protected with PVC lining. This gives characteristic features of the fiberglass screen like color, flexibility, and durability. It also protects the screen from rust, stain, and corrosion. Fiberglass is one of the basic and the most economical mesh available in the market. The quality of mesh is depending on how best is QC’ed while manufacturing the same. Phifer uses Class ”C” grade fiberglass (FG) material and is the largest producer of FG material in the world. It’s very hard to distinguish fiberglass mesh from nylon or any other counterfeit products that are available in the market. Nevertheless, the right fiberglass screen can be economically used for decent control of mosquito menace.

INTRODUCTION TO MOSQUITO MESHES

ALUMINUM MESHAluminum is being used as an alloy to make different Al based products. Aluminum 5xxxA is a series of Al alloy that is being used to make a variety of weldable products. Among which, 5154A is used in pressure vessels and ship making since it is moderately hard, yet, is weldable. The same grade (5154A) is being used to make Phifer’s aluminum mesh. This is the huge difference that distinguishes Phifer from other local products where Al will get rust in an year time.

This precision woven and coated screen mesh sets the standard for the screening industry. Available in three finishes: Black Aluminum screen offers the best outward visibility; Brite-KoteTM Bright Aluminum is the traditional aluminum product marketed worldwide; and Charcoal Aluminum’s rich charcoal finish has an architecturally pleasing appearance.

STAINLESS STEEL (SS) MESH

SS mesh is for Durability and VisibilityStainless steel is known for its characteristic properties like sturdiness, resistance, durability, rust-resistant and bright metal finish. Stainless steel is an alloy and is made of nickel (Ni) and chromium (Cr), and other minerals. Different grades of SS is made with various combinations of Ni and Cr that serve different purposes. Grade 304 stainless steel is made for rust resistance and hence is chosen for making meshes. Phifer sells its SS screen with a brand name SEEVUE®. This screening offers outstanding durability and its black cover coat offers improved visibility. SeeVue protects against harmful insects while still allowing superior airflow. This screening is excellent for porch applications.

TOUGH NET or ROUGH NET or PET NETThe mesh is made of a strong vinyl-coated polyester. This product is seven times stronger than the traditional insect screen and resists easy tears and punctures caused by dogs and cats or any other pets. This screen’s material and weaving technology offers best protection against insects and allows excellent outward visibility, stands-up in high traffic areas, and is available in Black only color. The mesh has several advantages over other meshes. For example, it is the strongest mesh among all other meshes, including the metal meshes (Al or SS based)

We have seven different kinds of meshes that can be fabricated to fit into several ways to fix mosquito screens to houses. It all depends on situation and personal choice/needs. For example, if one wishes to have a roll-up system in their house, they have to go by fiberglass mesh only. VELCRO SYSTEMVelcro is one of the basic and the most economical mesh fitment. This fitment can only be chosen with fiberglass or tough mesh. The system is easy to made and is equally efficient in controlling mosquito menace. This can be used against wooden or uPVC frame work.

SLEEK/CLASSIC WINDOWSleek window offers you to chose from a wide range of mesh-types. Virtually, all types of meshes can be fitted to a sleek window. Yet, the design is so lite that you feel refreshed when you start using it. Merits of the system – low weight, easy to open and close, long life, can chose to fit any mesh type. Comes in variety of aluminum section colors like white, brown, dark brown, honey gold, wooden finish, etc.

FIXED CLASSIC WINDOWThe fixed classic window is a sister-model of the classic window fit. It differs in lack of hinges for moments. It can be installed in places where space constraint limit using windows

ROLL-up FITMENTGlossy roll fitment is suitable to fit as external or internal to a window. For example, if there is a space in window to fix the fitment we can fit internally, else we have to fix the fitment to the walls externally. This is one in the class of fitment types available for mesh installation. It preserves the richness of interiors also provides mosquito free environment. The pros of the system-no visible mesh when not in use, improved ergonomics while operating mesh, fresh look, improve aesthetics of indoors, and last but not the least, affordable.

PLEATED SYSTEM FOR WINDOW/DOORSThis system is being used to arrange mesh for the windows. It is similar to the Barrier-free pleated system, however, differed by the lower arrangement where you need to fix channel for moving mesh. In barrier-free pleated system you really don’t want to install any support for moving mesh at the bottom.

Barrier-free Pleated system where mosquito mesh (elite PE) is pleated and  rolled nicely into an aluminum section. Hence, similar to the Glossy roll fit, the mosquito net can be nicely rolled up. This fitment can be fitted either horizontally or vertically, and most often this system is being used to fix mesh to patio doors or balcony doors. The maximum fitment size of an individual  item comes by 4 x 8 ft (w x h).
