The Chinese folk tale story of “The Magic Paint Brush” is about a poor boy named Ma Liang, who was a great artist who happened to meet an old man who later gave him a

magical paintbrush. His one condition was to use it wisely. The magical paintbrush was indeed special as paintings became alive when Ma Liang used it to paint a picture.

Following the old man’s condition, he used his magic brush to help the people in need. He used it to help the hungry villagers, the poor lady who was in need of milk

for her baby, the poor boatman who needed a new boat and everyone else who were really in need of help. News spreads to the King’s palace and the boy was summoned by the greedy King, who wanted him to draw a golden palace. Ma Liang knew that he could not follow the King’s orders. So, he painted himself a horse to escape from the palace. This story has taught the children about some moral values like responsibility,

selfless acts, helping others and making wise choices.

Let’s retell the story!

Ma Liang was a poor boy who loved to draw and paint.

An old man came up to him and gave him a paintbrush.

It was a magic paint brush!

He was so amazed to see his drawings

came alive, but he also remembered the

old man’s words, “Use it wisely.”

Ma Liang went home to get some ink and drew with his

brush. He drew a bird on the wall and it became alive.

He used his magic brush to help all the people in

need.

Ma Liang did not want to give in to the greedy King’s

orders and rode away on his horse.

SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL

Our flashcards training for this month include paintings of

famous painters and “Time” flash cards. Children are already

conditioned to flash cards and they have shown improvements

in their memory and word recognitions.

学飞前我们要训练平衡感。

秋意绵密的十月，我们迎来了《小鸟学飞》的主题。通过这主题，幼儿们认识了鸟类的身体构造，鸟类的生活方式以及成长过程等等。除此之外，幼儿们透过许多趣味的活动以便更深入了解这主题带给我们的信息。最后，老师一定要提醒大家这故事叫我们要有勇敢坚持的学习每项技能。

The female bird said: "You have grown up and you have to learn to fly."

In the autumn of October, we ushered in the theme of "Little Birds Learn to Fly".

Through this theme, young children know the body structure of birds, the lifestyle of birds and the growth process. In addition, young children have a lot of fun activities

to get a deeper understanding of the information that this topic brings to us.

Finally, the teacher must remind everyone that this story requires us to have the

courage to learn every skill.

This month we learned how to tell the time in ‘am/pm, o’clock, and half past, the position of the hour and minutes numbers and the hands. Besides telling the

time, we also played a time game using game board.

Last October 5, the childrenhad a very special Children'sday celebration. Their daystarted with a storytelling byTr. Shanti which wasportrayed and dramatised bythe teachers. The story wasa version of Cinderella and allthe children loved it! Theywere all entertained and theyalso cheered and applaudedfor their teachers. Then itwas followed by...

Once there were 8 princesses who would like to go to the ball.

But there was one princess who was asked to stay at home and take care of their father...

After the ball, the prince looked for the owner of the glass shoe!

Your foot cannot fit in

my dear princess! This cannot be!

That is mine!

Princess Zu is the real owner of the shoe. She

got married to the prince and they lived happily ever after!

After merry making, singing and dancing, the children had a sumptuous Western lunch.They went back to their respective classes to receive tokens and gifts prepared bytheir teachers. The classes also took turns in going to the photo booth with thetheme – “When I Grow Up!”. In the afternoon, the children had a buffet of theirfavourite snacks and treats which were all prepared by the teachers. They’ve alsoenjoyed the popcorn booth and candy floss station rented by the teachers. The daywas capped off with a movie which they all enjoyed watching while eating theirpopcorn! It was really a day worth remembering for the kids!

practice on using the escalators.

We met with Mr Kelvin recently

and he gave us a tour around

Potong Pasir MRT station

We were

introduced to

the system

map and the

different

colours of

train lines.

The safety and proper use of the gantry

and he showed us how to purchase tickets

from the machine.Walking on the guided walk

way for the visually disabled.

We also had a

chance for a

free ride on

board the train!
