Our StoryWe met in 2003 as juniors in high school through mutual friends who set us up as homecoming dates. After homecoming, we continued seeing each other and were soon inseparable. Two years later we both graduated from neighboring high schools in small rural towns in west central Ohio. After graduation, Matt started working for a local concrete construction company, while Cindy went off to college to study education. She graduated four years later with a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Childhood Education. Before graduating, she got the opportunity to travel to Europe and complete her student teaching in Barcelona, Spain, where she taught math, science, and language arts to fifth grade students from around the world. It was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience that she will

never forget! Luckily, Matt got to share in some of this experience by flying over with Cindy’s parents and sister to visit for a week. They traveled around Spain but also went to Austria and Germany while they were there.

After almost seven years together, we got married in July of 2010 surrounded by family and friends. We had a great time in Jamaica on our honeymoon, where we experienced snorkeling and zip lining for the first time! In 2018, we got our dog, Bella, who is a black and white Coton Poo. She loves playing with our nieces and nephews (and they love her too!) and enjoys running around Cindy’s parents farm.

Our life today. Matt is still doing construction but currently works for a local, family-owned company where he is a construction supervisor for agricultural buildings. Cindy taught for a few years after graduating from college but is currently working as a youth librarian at a local library where she plans programs for children and teens.

What we do for fun. In our free time, we enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors (camping, boating, biking, and snow skiing), and being with our family and friends. We especially love spending time and making memories with our nieces and nephews. Matt also enjoys four-wheeling, playing soccer, listening to music, and cooking over a fire, while Cindy likes reading, swimming, riding horses, and taking Bella on walks.

Our Families...Cindy was born in 1987 and grew up in the country on her family’s farm. Her mom is a retired nurse but still continues to work part-time at a local doctor’s office and her dad is a retired public works employee but still continues farming and raising dairy steers. Both of her parents are actively involved in their county’s 4-H, where they are advisors for a local club.

Cindy has one sister who is married and lives close by on her husband’s family farm. One thing Cindy remembers the most from her childhood is going on family vacations. They went almost every year when she was younger to Rice Lake in Canada with her grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins where they stayed in a cabin and went fishing, boating, and swimming. They also went to Disney World, the Smoky Mountains, St. Louis, and Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Another thing she remembers most from her childhood is raising pigs for 4-H and getting them ready to show at the county fair every year. It taught her a lot about hard work and dedication but was also a lot of fun too. Cindy cherishes these childhood memories and hopes to have some of the same, as well as create many new ones, with her own children one day.

Our Families...

Matt was born in 1986 and also grew up in the country about ten minutes from Cindy. His mom and dad both work at a local factory. His mom is actively involved in Girl Scouts, where she organizes a three day long camp in the summer for girls in the area, while his dad enjoys bowling on a local league and traveling around Ohio and surrounding states getting autographs from famous sports players and Nascar drivers to auction off at local benefits for those in need.

Matt has three brothers and two sisters, who are all married and live close by. He also has eight nieces and nephews, three of which are our godchildren. Some of Matt’s favorite memories from his childhood include running around and playing with his siblings and cousins, especially riding bikes and fishing in the canal. Each summer his family took a trip to King’s Island, where Matt loved riding the biggest and fastest roller coasters with his brothers.

Another thing he remembers is going camping a lot with his family, where he liked swimming, biking, and making pizza pies around the campfire. Matt still really enjoys camping and hopes to take his own children some day.

We live in a ranch style house in the country just outside of a very small, Catholic community. Our home used to be Cindy’s grandmothers, so it is filled with lots of memories from Cindy’s childhood. It means so much to Cindy’s parents that we live there and that they were able to keep the house in the family. Our favorite part of our home is our big backyard, which is perfect for playing outdoor games, having campfires, and gives Bella lots of room to run and play. We live just down the road from Cindy’s parents and are only ten minutes from Matt’s parents. We are also only a short drive to our church, school, library, and parks.

About Matt from Cindy“Matt is the most loving, generous, and hardworking person I know. He is my best friend and my rock, always there for me when I need him. He is also funny and adventurous, always making me laugh and getting me to try new things. Not only is Matt a great husband, but he is also a wonderful uncle. He gets down on the floor to play dolls with our nieces and runs around having Nerf wars with our nephews. Nothing makes me happier than seeing Matt with them and I just know that he will be an amazing father as well.”

About Cindy from Matt“Cindy is a very caring, loving, and supportive person. She knows how to make me laugh and cheer me up when I am down. She will do anything for others, dropping everything to help them out. It is great to see how she interacts with young kids, especially in her job at the library and with our nieces and nephews, treating them as if they were our own. Cindy is an amazing wife and a fun, loving aunt, and I know she will be a wonderful mother one day!”

Dear Birthparents,From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to get to know us and for considering us to adopt your child! Hopefully the information and photographs throughout our profile will help you learn a little about us and what is important in our lives.

We cannot imagine how hard this decision must be for you, but we want you to know that if you choose us, we promise to love and care for your child unconditionally. We will give him or her a safe, happy, and nurturing life in a Christian home where he or she is valued, respected, and encouraged to be themselves and to dream without limits. We will share what we love and enjoy doing with your child but we will also provide him or her with opportunities to try new things and to find out what they like to do. We both come from very loving and supportive families who are excited and hopeful about our decision to adopt. They are ready to help us welcome a baby into our family with open arms and hearts.

We believe it is important that the child knows about his or her birthparents, and their selfless decision to choose adoption. We will honor this and share their story with them so they can be proud of their adoption and where they came from.

Sincerely,Matt & Cindy
