Going to college with artists helped me get ready for what I do now, which is work with artists to complete shots and communicate with production managers. At Ringling, I learned how artists work and got to experience the process firsthand by taking studio courses. For my senior thesis, I created a cross-major thesis with computer animation students Michelle Kwon, Mike Bidinger, and Reece Porter. Without that background, there’s no way I would be already managing feature-length animated films.

”I feel very fortunate for the opportunity to learn not only from the instructors at Ringling, but also from the peers I graduated with. The faculty introduced me to new ideas, artists, and techniques, while my fellow students offered dialogue, friendship, and a certain sense of competition. Since then I’ve worked in a number of galleries and helped create a popular local artists’ collective. And as a painter, I’ve exhibited around the U.S. and participated in multiple residencies in France.

I love working with some of the most talented artists in the world, helping the director realize his or her vision. Plus, you can’t beat playing a round of ping pong in the company atrium.

For over a decade, Pixar has visited the Ringling College campus annually, interviewing more than 30 seniors, and each year the company has hired one or more graduates. More than 24 Ringling alumni now work at Pixar, and Ringling in turn has hired faculty who have worked on some of the company’s global smashes.

Pixar representatives participate in class critiques, attend student exhibitions, and even provide special exclusive screenings of some of the company’s most iconic films. The company’s recruiters say the Ringling campus possesses a special energy they find nowhere else.

My responsibilities include playing, testing, assessing, and designing games. The process has a ton of different kinds of work, but basically, I get paid to play games and draw pictures all day. How cool is that?

Based in San Francisco, Gensler is widely recognized as the world’s leading collaborative design firm and has represented 2,390 clients in 114 countries. Ringling College graduates work in many of the company’s 46 worldwide offices, part of an incredibly diverse team whose number one goal is to meet client needs.

From a wine bottle label to the tallest building in China, Gensler’s work spans a variety of project types, communities, and disciplines, and the company turns to Ringling because it is always looking for candidates eager to join a company that fosters a feeling of creative urgency. The opportunities at Google for artists and designers are practically limitless. They work behind the scenes, helping the company design its eccentric offices, and in public, drawing Google doodles and crafting user experiences across the company’s immense range of platforms.

Google hires people who are smart and determined, hailing from all walks of life and speaking dozens of languages. The company moves quickly, and is always searching for candidates who love big challenges and are willing to embrace big changes. It’s no wonder Ringling College graduates fit right in.

My favorite thing about working on the Google Analytics team is the chance to solve really complex problems. It’s like biking: The higher and steeper the hill, the harder it gets, but that just makes me more set on conquering the challenge.

I never, ever know what my next project with Google’s Creative Lab will be, which is so exciting. Regardless of what I’m doing on any given day, I know that I have the opportunity to affect people’s lives and change the world.
