The rose placed on the Altar in the Sanctuary today is to the glory

of God and in honor of Carson Athens McCutcheon, son of Camer-

on & Allison McCutcheon, born on October 3, 2015. Proud big sis-

ters are Emma Gray & Madison Irvin McCutcheon and proud

grandparents are Bob & Tia Athens. The mission of Hartwell First United Methodist Church is to be a community of faith through which all persons can

come to know Jesus Christ, accept His saving grace, and become faithful disciples, witnessing to God’s love in the world.

UMW Operation Christmas Shoeboxes Pick up a direction sheet

and labels from the church office. Get a shoebox or plastic box

and fill it for a girl or boy for Christmas. Shoe box dedication is

on Sunday, November 11th.

Scripture James 2: 14-18

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have

faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother

or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one says to them,

“Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not

supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by

itself, if it has no works, is dead. But someone will say, “You

have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from

your works, and I by my works will show you my faith.

By grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not
