An Obstacle or an Opportunity We can focus on the Negative• We can choose to look at the debris.• We can whine because of the detour we had to

take.• We can get frustrated with the inconveniences

and delays.• We can pout about the disappointments and

wish the fire never happened.

Page 10: Our Mission. Our Vision F ixing our Focus on God and His Mission B uilding People and Families upon the Foundation of God’s Word C onnecting to Others.

An Obstacle or an Opportunity

Or we can Look at it from God’s Perspective• Opportunity to position ourselves for ministry in

our community for the next 20 years.• Accelerate our facility plan by 10-15 years.• Potentially reach hundreds of children, youth,

and adults now that we could not reach or accommodate with our old facilities.

Recommendation # 1---Demo Old Office and Educational Building

• The building is approximately 10,000 square feet including the connector corridor. The cost to put it back as it was is over $900,000. For a little more money we can build some new space for Children and Youth that will be more efficient and effective.

Page 12: Our Mission. Our Vision F ixing our Focus on God and His Mission B uilding People and Families upon the Foundation of God’s Word C onnecting to Others.

Recommendation # 1---Demo Old Office and Educational Building

• Due to the low ceilings and the location of load bearing walls, it would make it difficult to do much changing to the way the building is laid out.

• The building has quite a bit of mold on all exterior walls.

Page 13: Our Mission. Our Vision F ixing our Focus on God and His Mission B uilding People and Families upon the Foundation of God’s Word C onnecting to Others.

Recommendation # 1---Demo Old Office and Educational Building

• The building is located very far away from the central activity of the church and has a negative appearance from FM 1314.

• We need some space for Children’s ministry and Youth Ministry that can be adapted for large worship space plus classrooms. This space cannot accommodate such demands.
