Our Mission The mission of Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul, an independent chapter of a worldwide organization, is to serve our community by promoting the use and appreciation of French Language and cultures through language classes, cultural programs, social events and information resources. Why Alliance Française? • At Alliance Française, we’re more than just a school; we are the French cultural center serving the Twin Cities. Our students enjoy a simultaneous cultural and linguistic education. Past events include a guided tour in French at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, a hip hop dance class, a soccer game followed by a meet up with one of the players, a concert at the Cedar Cultural Center, and a canoe outing. Tuiton fees do not include membership, textbook or registration fees. Please contact AF office for further information or with any questions regarding different levels, student placement or materials. Please note that all groups started in September and continue to use the same textbook throughout the school year. Each year, Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul awards six local high school students with a one-year schol-arship to language classes. The scholarship program began in 2003 and covers all membership fees, tuition and materials for the student for one calendar year, a total value of $2,000 per participant.

Ages 1-6LE SAMEDI DES PETITS (18-months–3 years)A group for children and parents who want to play and speak French with other families! (price per child and caretaker; maximum of one caretaker per child)Saturdays, 9 to 10 am, $175

PRE-K (Ages 3-4)French Discovery at the Alliance Française! Introduce your 4-year old to la langue de Molière with songs, games and activities led by our native French instructors.(No textbook used for this class)Saturdays, 10:15 to 11:15 am $175

K–1ST GRADE (Ages 5–6)Level 1 Material: Ludo et Ses Amis 1Saturdays, 9 to 10:30 am

TWEENS ADVANCED CONVERSATION & GRAMMAR (Grades 4–7)This class is reserved for students in grades 4-7 who previously attended immersion schools, schools with a French curriculum or have a very advanced level of spoken French. It combines grammar fine-tuning and practice through conversation, reading and writing. (No textbook for this class) Saturdays, 12:30 to 2 pm

GRADES 7–9 IMMERSIONThis class is reserved for students who previously attended immersion schools, have an advanced level of French or have used Adosphère 3. Material: Adosphère 4 Saturdays, 12:30 to 2 pm

TEEN ADVANCED CONVERSATION & GRAMMAR (Grades 7–10)This class is reserved for students in grades 7–10 who previously attended immersion schools, schools with a French curriculum or have a very advanced level of spoken French. It is a continuation of our Grades 7–9 Immersion class and combines grammar fine-tuning and practice through conversation, reading and writing. (No textbook for this class) Saturdays, 2:30 to 4 pm

Classes meet once a week, for 10 weeks. $195 per class. $50 for materials unless otherwise noted.

Course withdrawal policies: Withdrawals must be made in writing to the Education Director.A $15 administration fee will be deducted for all cancellations. To receive a refund, withdrawals must be made 2 weeks before classes begin. Membership, registration fees and materials are not refundable. A tuition credit may be issued for withdrawals requested before the end of the second week of classes, for a maximum of 75% of tuition paid minus elapsed classes. There are no credits, discounts or refunds for missed classes.

Classes for Homeschool StudentsAFMSP is pleased to offer French classes for Homeschool students! Classes are available for students ages 6 to 16 from beginner to more advanced levels and are organized during weekdays.For more information please contact Alix at 612 332 0436 or [email protected]

LES PETITS PENSEURS Sunday afternoons once a month.

Give kids ages 4-8 a chance to discuss “philosophical” themes such as sharing, difference and friendship.

Children will learn to express their ideas and develop their French language skills through a story, games and a
