Baptism: Classes in English are on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm. Please call the office to register for a class. After attending class, the baptism date is to be scheduled through the parish office. Marriage: Couples need to schedule a meeting with the priest at least six months before the proposed marriage date to begin the necessary preparations for the sacrament of marriage.

The Third Sunday of Advent is al-so called Gaudete Sunday, from the Latin word for ”Rejoice.” The idea is that we are drawing close to the commemoration of Christ’s birth. However, there is more to the story (especially since we know how it ends). In the second reading, St. Paul places “Rejoice” in union with “pray without ceasing” and “give thanks.” Together, these three activities lead us to doing God’s will for us. Doing God’s will then prepares us for Christ’s second coming or our death, whichever occurs first.

Why is our Diocese conducting the Idaho Catholic Appeal?

Each year, the Bishop asks each and every one of the more than 170,000 Catholics living in Idaho to participate in the Appeal. He asks us to generously support the on-going ministries of the Church that provide educational, pastoral, and charitable outreach to those living in the Diocese. The Idaho Catholic Appeal provides about 70 percent of the support needed to fund the diocesan ministries each year. The other funding comes from parish assessments, fees for services, investment income and grants, and other donations.

HELP PREVENT HOMELESSNESS THROUGH ST. VINCENT DE PAUL St. Vincent de Paul is raising money through the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge, December 10 – 31. Many of our neighbors are struggling to make ends meet. So many are only one crisis from a spiral into homelessness. St. Vincent de Paul is working hard to bridge that gap!

Your donation to St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho through the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge will enable more local families to stay in their homes, during these cold, winter months. St. Vincent de Paul volunteers visit families in crisis and assist them by paying a portion of their rent or utility bill, which can stop utility shut off or eviction.
