Book Fair

BOKS Starting Thurs, Nov 8, BOKS will be running every

Monday and Thursday at 7:30am for grade 5 and

6 students. BOKS teaches functional fitness skills

in a non-competitive, inclusive way, with a focus on

physical activity. It promotes the impact that

physical activity has on a child's mind, body and

spirit.

FIRST RECONCILIATION - SESSION 2 in November.

In this month’s First Reconciliation preparation, your child will experience praying with Scripture; learn

the Scripture story about the Ten Commandments; learn God’s rules from the Bible; learn that Jesus

came to help us to follow God’s rules; understand the difference between mortal and venial sin; learn

that the Sacrament of Reconciliation can help us to follow God’s rules; understand the importance of

keeping God’s commandments; pray for help in following the Word of God; pray a prayer about being

sorry and returning to God; learn the Scripture story about John the Baptist and the Baptism of Jesus;

understand what it means to repent; explain how the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a Sacrament of

conversion; make an examination of conscience; learn ways the Holy Spirit helps us in the Sacrament of

Reconciliation; and pray a prayer a praise and petition to God.

Are you interested in sharing your child’s faith journey? Are you an active member of St.

Patrick’s Parish but you haven’t received some of the Sacraments of Initiation? St. Patrick’s

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) invites you to join our small community and prepare

to receive the sacraments you may have missed as a child. The RCIA community meet each

Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:00 pm to deepen our relationship with Christ and the

Church through scripture, liturgy and community life. This is a prayerful and spirit filled time to

prepare your heart to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist and enter

in to full communion with the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil 2019. If you want more

To honour the sacrifice and service of Canada’s military

by educating students and placing poppies on the

headstones of veterans every November.

No Stone Left Alone Memorial Foundation is, among the leading agencies,

dedicated to honouring and remembering Canada’s veterans. Our unique ceremony

provides students and youth with an authentic experience that creates knowledge,

understanding and appreciation of those who serve and of the sacrifice of Canada’s

fallen.

The final 100 days of the First World War — from 8 August to 11 November 1918 —

came to be known as the Hundred Days Offensive. The Canadian Corps' significant

contributions along the Western Front generated the name "Canada's Hundred Days."

During this time, Canadian and allied forces pushed the German Army from Amiens,

France, west to Mons, Belgium, in a series of battles — a drive that ended in German

surrender and the end of the war.
