A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE" by Bud Ozar Disagreements are common in families. But what would you say if Jesus posed the same question “What are you arguing about?” Is it silly and petty? Is it an attempt to impose your will and control on another? Today Jesus tells us and his disciples to give it up. We are meant to serve each other, not control.

HOPES 2nd Collection for THIS week The HOPES Collection benefits the Catholic elementary schools of the Archdiocese by providing schools with individual HOPES Grants. Last year’s HOPES Grants totaled $155,000 to fund technology, safety and advancement initiatives at thirty-two schools. The Collection also supports the broad-based mar-keting and promotion of Catholic schools through branding and social media. Please help us provide a culture of faith and aca-demic excellence to elementary school students by giving to the 2018 Catholic elementary school HOPES Collection this week-end. Michael S. Parish Nurse Program In April and May of 2018, the parish nurse group performed a parish “Community Needs Assessment” survey. 258 parishioners re-
sponded and identified High Blood Pressure as the number one health concern and High Cholesterol as the number 2 concern. The top three topics of interest include Exercise Diet/Improving Nutri-tion, Healthy Aging, and Stress Relief. Weekday evenings were recognized as the most convenient time for our parishioners to at-tend educational programs. OLMC Parish Nurses would like to thank the parishioners that participated in the Blood Pressure Blitz. We sincerely enjoyed meeting and getting to know you. 75 parishioners participated! Watch the bulletin for future Blood Pressure screenings. We en-courage everyone to participate, meet your nurses, have your blood pressure checked, and collect some healthy living tips.
