TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE Muchas primeras comuniones se celebran en el Tiempo de Pascua. Además de recibir el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Jesús por primera vez en su vida los comul-gantes reciben un libro de oraciones, un rosario y un es-capulario. Como recuerdo del evento, muchos comulgan-tes regalan a sus amigos y parientes alguna estampita religiosa. Las estampitas llevan imágenes de Jesucristo, la Vir-gen, los ángeles o los santos y son muy populares entre los latinos. Las ponemos en nuestros autos, en libros co-mo la Biblia o libros de oración. Las tenemos en altarcitos domésticos o metidos en los marcos de las fotos de nuestros seres queridos. Muchos critican esta práctica recordando que en Éxo-do 20:3-5, Dios prohibió el uso de ídolos. Esto la Iglesia católica nunca lo ha negado, pero recuerda que Dios también pidió imágenes de ángeles para la arca de la alianza (Éxodo 25: 17). En Números 21:8 mandó hacer una imagen milagrosa de una serpiente. Ninguna de esas imágenes es considerada un ídolo porque son imágenes al servicio de Dios y recuerdo de su presencia igual que las estampitas e imágenes religiosas. —Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, Copyright © J.
