1 Nov 2, 2016 Issue 11 Our Lady of Guadalupe School In the MSJ Dominican Tradition Dear OLG Families, As we remember those holy ones who have gone before us on this All Souls Day, let us be mindful of the legacy they have left us – the gifts of family and friendship, the values of kindness and simplicity, courage and faith. I am also mindful of the many principals, teachers and staff members who have graced us throughout the 52 years of OLG School’s life. Thank you to everyone for your great work with our Harvest Festival! From the wonderful food to the terrific entertainment to the fabulous games, it was a success! Wasn’t God so good in providing such excellent weather for our day?! We will try to have the final results in next week’s bulletin. Thank you to the families who have already filled out the WCEA/WASC family survey. Please do take the time to do this. We must have at least an 85% return from our families. 100% would be fabulous! When you have completed the survey, click on the link again and print out the sheet that says, “You have already taken this survey.” Send it to school with your family name on it by November 9, 2016, and your child will get free dress on November 10. Congratulations to the OLG Cross Country Boys, grades 6-8 for their Championship Win at the Diocese of Oakland Championship Meet on 10/21!
The team took 4th place out of 25 competing schools at Joaquin Miller Park. The team was coached by Mr. Rick Moraida and led by Thomas McCallion (5th place overall finisher), Marcus McCallion (20th place finisher) and Samuel Forbes (27th place finisher). The team also consisted of the following athletes that attend OLG School: Robert Burns, Johann Sathianathen and Timmy Burns. GO SAINTS!!

A food drive is currently under way at OLG School. We are collecting non- perishable food items that will be given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society so they can assemble Thanksgiving food baskets for those in need. The following items are the ones most needed:
