FAITH AND VOTING: A 2016 Election Forum on Issues Impacting the Black Community. WHEN: 1pm - 3Pm, Sat. Oct. 8. WHERE: MPR. WHAT: A voters forum sponsored by the Social Justice Ministry to learn about issues important to black people of faith that the next Congress will de­cide. Guests include experts from the Center for Community Change, a nonprofit organization empowering people affected by injustice to im­prove policy. CANCER CARE & AWARENESS MINISTRY PRAYER LUNCHEON.

ELECTION DAY IS NOV. 8, AND EACH SINGLE VOTE MATTERS- -A LOT!

Remember to vote early to avoid lines. Virginia registration deadline is Fri. Oct., 7. Maryland deadline is Tue., Oct. 8. Washington D.C. mail-in registration deadline is Tue., Oct. 11. After that you must register in person. There is no deadline for in-person D.C. registration.

On Nov. 5-6, the Social Justice Ministry will be available after each service to answer questions about early voting, voter ID rules in the OMV, checking your polling sites, and highlights of key issues affecting the black community. If you can help get voters to the polls or be a poll watcher, email the Social Justice Ministry at [email protected].

EVANGELISM TRAINING. WHEN: Oct. 8 at 9am - 12pm. WHERE: Room 314. WHAT: This interactive session presents the biblical foundations for evangelism and practical principles and tools for effectively sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ without fear. CHRISTMAS TREE OF LIGHTS GIFT REGISTRATION. WHEN: Each Sun­day in Oct.; 1:30 - 4pm. WHAT: DG24 invites parents who need assistance with Christmas presents for their children to register for gifts.
