Certification is a detailed process that qualifies a business of being at

least 51% owned, managed and controlled by a U.S. citizen and meet

the criteria based on the specific certifying entity.

Companies seeking certification must be for-profit businesses.

• Receives opportunities from Corporations. We are the recommended certifying body of choice for Corporate America.

• Certification guarantees that I will get contracts with corporations• I only have to be certified once• I should engage in IMSDC activities and events as much as possible• If I certify with one council I am certified with all councils• There is value in my certification• Once I become certified I am a “member” of IMSDC• Certification with IMSDC is free• Women owned businesses are recognized as MBEs• IMSDC certifies Joint Ventures• Certification takes 60 – 90 days• I have to be in business for one (1) year before I can be certified• My certification can help grow my business
