Northwood Park and

Northwood House

Introduction The theme is our community around the school which is

important to how the school is. It shows what the area of Cowes is

like.

What Northwood Park and Northwood House are like

Northwood house is an old, large manor house it has some nice gardens around it and then

there is Northwood park around it as well which has many trees and a few open spaces, it also

has a church in it. It also is quite often used as a place to walk your dogs. The area is very quiet and peaceful, when your there you feel very

relaxed.

What Makes a Good Photo?A good photo is something that grabs

your attention, and makes you interested. It sometimes makes you

think. Also it needs to follow some of the rules of composition such as simplicity, rule of thirds, framing,

balance and leading lines.

This photo shows a statue, I think it’s a good composition because there is a clear focal point and there is foreground interest, also it

show the age of the place because you can see the decay of the stone. Also I think that having the statue in the left third instead of the middle

third makes it look more interesting.

The photo on this slide shows the church and mainly the bell tower. I think it is a good composition because the lines in of the buildings

lead you to the bell tower, also it shows the rule of thirds because the bell tower is in the right third, also I think this is a good photo because

I think the angle I've taken it from makes it look effective.

This photo shows the church that is in Northwood Park, I think this photo shows the age of the area well because you can see the moss growing on the

roof, and can see the decay on the building which I think makes the image interesting because there is a lot to look at

This is a photo of Northwood house, think this is a good photo because it shows you the size of

Northwood house also the tree and the side of the building frames the photo well.

The tree in this photo is in Northwood Park I chose to take a picture of I because I found the texture of the tree really unusual, I think the angle I took it from works well because your looking up at the

tree and the light is shining through the branches

In this photo you can see the age and decay of the area which I think represents this area well, also I think that the effect that the decay makes,

makes the photo look very effective.

This photo shows a part of Northwood House, it also shows the surroundings, which I think frames the photo well. Also I like the way

the light is shining off the window.

The photo on this slide is of the church, I think this is a good photo because you can see the age of the church and gives you

an idea of the history of the area

This photo shows the bell tower, which is just above a tree, I think this is a good photo because the subject of the photo is

clear, and the green of the tree in the photo balances the greyness out.

This shows a tree in the park, I think this is a good photo because all the lines in the photo make s it look interesting and it gets your attention,

also I like the way that the green of the leaves stands out from the brown also i like that the light from the sky shines through.
