Carol Arno�Carol Arno� is a textile artist and maker from Broughty Ferry, Dundee. Working in felt and reclaimed fabrics, she enjoys recreating the quirky harbours around the East Coast of Scotland where she lives, and is drawn to the isolation and beautiful countryside that is home to the Sco�ish bothy.
All Carol’s work is hand sewn, and is created by drawing in stitch – using the tone and textures of the materials used to depict the buildings and landscapes created in her work.
Selling internationally, Carol works mostly through commission and has enjoyed exhibiting in a number of exhibitions and Sco�ish galleries. Her work is widely
collected, and has been featured in both ‘Be Creative with Workbox’, ‘Stitch’ magazines and Australian magazine 'Homespun'.
Carol is an experienced tutor, delivering classes and workshops to groups the length of Scotland where her courses are enjoyed by both experienced embroiderers and novices alike. She enjoys developing and enhancing di�erent skills and abilities; making sure the content of her workshops are tailored for individual ability, pace and most of all – enjoyment!
Carol is also a Community Learning and Development practitioner and enjoys using her creative skills to work with people in many varied and diverse ventures; from community engagement to creating public art. For the second time, Carol will be teaching at the Alpine Experience in 2019.

During your week with Carol, you will be able to create both a textile landscape and then work with Carol to create a larger piece of a scene, landscape or building that you enjoy or that means something to you.You will learn how to ‘draw’ freehand with thread and fabric to translate photographs into textile works of art; developing the skills to recreate any scene using your unique stitch as a tool for scale and composition. �is course is suitable for both novice and experi-enced embroiderers.
