Teacher Notes• The children will work individually and in a large group to create this project during Language

Arts. Time can also be taken during Math to compare and contrast information about the children, by querying the database and working with the spreadsheet.

• This project can be done by children at a variety of levels. The teacher can create templates for each element with the specific information he/she would like to include, or the students can create all of the elements after they become familiar with the technology.

• The computer program Graph Club, which many primary teachers have access to could also be used rather then Microsoft Excel.

• The project can be put together as a large booklet as well as a Power Point presentation where each student in the class has their own page, similar to the one that was used as a template.

• Supporting Materials: Classroom ComputerAlphaSmart Keyboards to maximize timeDigital Camera and Adobe Photoshop program Microsoft Office or other word processing program

(Microsoft Publisher is for templates so that pictures can be downloaded in a specific spot and of a specific size.)
