“...Sit and rest and refresh your soul. Eat of the fruit and drink the wine.

All, all is yours, and you are welcome.” —The Science of Mind text

Are you feeling a bit rushed? Overwhelmed? Troubled? Or are you filled with gratitude and needing an quiet time to take it all in? For all of this and more the Sunday morning medita‐tion is where you will find the perceptive re‐ception your spirit desires. Led by practitio‐ner Malené Njeri, it lasts for 35 minutes, end‐

ing in time to comfortably get into the 11am celebration. There is music to enhance as you are guided into a rest‐ful state, and inspirational readings to tap into your spiri‐tual center. Most sessions will end with a spiritual mind treatment based on the theme of the readings. Don’t be concerned about being late. There is an easy way to quickly get into the flow. Stand a moment outside the door and bring yourself to complete silence. Maintain that silence as you enter. You’ll find yourself suddenly present in the meditation and all is well. SUNDAYS 10:15‐10:50AM, in the Hopkins Room, on the second floor of the Learning Center. For more information:

Award‐winning singer/songwriter Kiya Heartwood’s music is described as “soulful confessions, political broadside and a wicked groove.” Over the years,

the different incarnations of her music have taken the flavors of punk, reggae and rap (Radio Cafe), roots Americana (Stealin Horses), folk rock (Wishing Chair), and now as her career begins to ramp up (again), we see the culmination of 30 years of honing her craft. Much like a good curry, the blend of spices Kiya infuses into her songwriting and performance bring a complexity and diversity that can't quite be labeled or boxed in. She is a storyteller and a poet with a rock‐n‐roll sensibility. Heart‐wood’s recently released solo album, Bold Swimmer, is garnering rave reviews from serious music aficionados. Bold Swimmer was produced by Mark Hallman who works with artists such as Eliza Gilkyson, Ani Di Franco, and Oasis. Richard Marcus calls it, “a damn good album,” and Lane Gosnay says Kiya “delivers keen lyrical folk sen‐sibility through a rock‐n‐roll power grid.” Kiya performs with bassist, Christa Hillhouse (4 Non Blondes). Hear Kiya SUNDAY, JULY 28 at 9:30 & 11AM. www.kiyaheartwood.comwww.kiyaheartwood.comwww.kiyaheartwood.com

From artist to creator to producer, Troy Horne has written, recorded, and produced music, film, and television. Horne has starred in the Broadway show RENT, the ION Network’s Firebrand TV, NBC’s The Sing

Off, and he was featured on ESPN’s 2011 Monday Night Football musical opener alongside Hank Williams, Junior. He has appeared on Star Search, on multiple records as a lead and background singer, and has toured the world with his band. It has been over ten years since Horne has released an album, and his introduction to the Science of Mind philosophy has launched a plethora of positive creativity. Horne hopes that his music will be a blessing to those seeking a little inspiration or a New Thought pick‐me‐up. He sees his new CD Monsters Inside My Head as a musical celebration of our global commu‐nity. Horne’s intention is to create positive music that is accessible and easily usable by Science of Mind commu‐nities via iTunes, with instrumental tracks and sheet mu‐sic for all of his songs available to download, and afford‐able licenses for CSL centers and musicians who wish to use his CDs or DVDs. Troy performs at both celebrations on SUNDAY, JULY 14! www.troyhorne.comwww.troyhorne.comwww.troyhorne.com

Jack was signed to a major songwriting contract at 19, when he began writing and performing with well‐known contemporary Christian artist, Kathy Troccoli, which pro‐

duced a Top Ten hit in the Christian market, and landed Jack a tune on Kathy’s debut pop album, produced by Ric Wake, best known for his work with Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. In 2003, Spanish pop superstar Naim Tho‐mas recorded Jack’s song “Caliente,” which became a number one song and video in Europe and Mexico. In 2004, Jack’s songs, “God Will Take Care of You,” was released on a CD by David Phelps, bestselling and Dove Award‐winning lead vocalist of the Gaither Vocal Band. Lately, Jack’s focus has shifted to using his gift as a heal‐ing agent to inspire, challenge, and spark changes in those who listen. His first project reflecting this new paradigm, Picture This, takes the listener on an incredible musical sojourn with tracks you can dance to, lyrics that question old ideas about life, “hymn‐like” pieces to sing along with, as well as music that quiets the mind to help awaken the Truth within. Jack visits again SUNDAY, AUGUST 11 at 9:30 and 11:00AM. www.jackfowler.comwww.jackfowler.comwww.jackfowler.com

SoulCollageSoulCollageSoulCollage workshopworkshopworkshop for children 7 and up

Children are natu‐rals at SoulCollage®. Their intuition and imaginations make the cards they make from magazine pic‐tures come alive. They understand

about all their inner parts such as a Scared Self, Happy Self, Stubborn Self or Curious Self, to name a few. The images pasted on a card give identity and voice to each of these parts and the SoulCollage® process helps the collager see how these parts make up the whole. In this workshop we will look at making one card to represent Source and another to represent one part of Self. The workshop will be conducted by CLC member, Janet Carman. She was attracted to SoulCollage® because of her strong interest in psychology, creativity and spirituality. A graphic design degree, travel to six conti‐nents, varied reading and work with an airline for 25 years give her much to draw from. She was trained in the SoulCollage® process in April 2013 by the originator of the process, Seena Frost. Three intense days in the hills above Silicon Valley were spent developing the skills to pass this process along. There are 1,700 facili‐tators across the globe using this process with adults, children, those in recovery, inmates, the terminally ill, church groups, individual therapy and grief workshops. Your kids will

be excited to join Janet for this workshop, SUNDAY, JULY 14, 11AM‐NOON. For more details e‐mail janetcarman@janetcarman@janetcarman@ hotmail.com hotmail.com hotmail.com and to view examples, go to www.soulcollage.comwww.soulcollage.comwww.soulcollage.com.

About PractitionersAbout PractitionersAbout Practitioners “A practitioner must continuously be conscious that all the Good there is, is his; not some part of It but all of It. It is not only available; It is workable. It is not only ever‐present; It always responds to him.” “The practitioner does not supply the mold of thought for his patient in any instance. She merely realizes that the mold which his patient supplies is filled by the Substance which forever flows into form. Therefore the practitioner has no personal responsibility. It is her business to realize the flow of Substance; it is the privilege of the patient to receive that Substance in the form of his own desire.” “This practice would be impossible unless the practitioner could sincerely and truthfully resolve things into thought in his own imagination and proceed upon the basis that all manifest life is a thing of thought in form.” “There is something about this that makes only people who believe in spiritual things good practitioners. Only people who have a great love for people make good practitioners. Only people whose tolerance has passed into understanding make good practitioners. Only people who have a natural or developed inclination and a conscious and subjective ability to feel the invisible make good practitioners.” “It is only the one who is able to abandon himself with a complete surren‐der to the genius of that spark of consciousness which seemed to come with us, that we had nothing to do with, who makes the best healer.”
