Summer INTRODUCING

Kinasao’s2015 Staff !“I began comingto Kinasao as acamper when Iwas 11 andhaven’t missed asummer since!”

My first year on staff was in 2011 and after four years ofmoving away from home each September I am happy tobe back in Saskatchewan long term. While away I was ananny, photography student, intern, youth group leader,

and world traveler. I have loved each adventure along theway but am most excited about what’s to come.

One of my favourite things about Kinasao has alwaysbeen the life-changing relationships that are built here

and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to fosterthat culture. I am excited to learn more about organizingand running our camp program and to be involved in theplanning process. Kinasao has a huge place in my heart

and I am thrilled that God has called me back to take on anew role within the leadership team at camp.

“Hope to see you soon!”

YOU this summer at Kinasao!

Caitlin GlasgowBeing a SIT at Kinasao was a very enriching experience. During my two weeksbeing a SIT I learned a lot about what it takes to be a leader and also learneda lot about having a “servant heart” and being willing to do whatever it takesto share God’s love. I had a blast playing with the campers and having anopportunity everyday to experience a different job at Kinasao, like workingin maintenance, or being on program with the campers. I feel that I grew inresponsibility and also grew a lot closer with God. Not to mention I also madea ton of great friends that share a love for God! If anyone were consideringbecoming a SIT, I would completely recommend they give it a try! It gives youan opportunity to grow in your faith, grow as a person, learn a lot of really usefullife skills, and have a ton of fun!

Andreas Graupe Being a SIT was very memorable for me and the best part of my summer. Iparticularly enjoyed being a sit at the Week In The Wild camp because I love beingoutdoors and I’ve never done that as a camper. Learned how to cook spaghettiover a fire!! I made worthwhile connections with the campers and staff. Kinasaohas always been a part of my growth and I'm glad I was able to be a SIT for asecond summer. I recommend being a SIT to everyone. It’s a chance to touchthe lives of children and grow in your faith in a nontraditional way.

Rhianne Billard Being a SIT is an awesome experience; it allows you to witness childrenlearning more about God and what exactly He does for us. As a SIT you get tomeet so many people and connect/work with many truly amazing kids andhelp to teach them about God’s love for them. During my two weeks I reallylearned that there really isn’t an end to God’s love, He loves us no matter whatand even if and when we forget to come to Him, He still is there, always therewhen we need Him… and I found out that I actually enjoy washing dishes.

Cameron Tholl Before I was a SIT I was an everyday camper, going for one week at a time, enjoying all Kinasao had to offer for me as a camper, and trust me, that was alot. When I decided to make the choice to become a SIT, I have to say it was oneof the best decisions I have ever made. It opened up my world to so muchlearning and fun, so many crazy adventures and even crazier stories. It gave mea chance to be a leader and to have responsibility, which is a great feeling. Ilearned, I grew spiritually, I taught, I listened and I enjoyed everything andeveryone around me. I remember all the kids and their happy faces, all the timesI've had shaving cream shoved in my hair, and all the times I was able to helpout campers. It was an unbelievable experience, and I wouldn't give up thosememories for the world. I am happy to say I am coming back for summer of2015, hoping to make more memories, learn even more and meet newamazing people.

did youHear from a few of our past Servant-In-Training volunteersabout why you should be a SITthis summer!

The SIT program is open to those 15-18 years old. Visit www.kinasao.ca under the Staff & Volunteer tab for an application.Apply early to ensure your choice of weeks.
