OU Career Services offers students the opportunity to gain academic credit for their internships or
co-ops through the class CAS 4630. In this class, students may acquire 1-6 hours of credit depending on
the number of hours they work during their internship. Each student who participates in the class works
very closely with an Assistant Director in the Career Services office and is required to complete weekly
materials including journals. Each student also writes a report about their internship experience and what
they have learned. The numbers below indicate the enrollment of students in this class.

Career Services teaches four sections of CAS 4091 - Career Planning for A&S Majors each year. The class gives
students an overview of the job search process, including self-assessment of individual qualifications, interests
and goals, resume development, letter writing, and the interviewing process. Also, the course allows students to
explore career opportunities beyond graduation, develop a strategy for the job search process, and improve job
search techniques.
Students highly benefit from CAS 4091 and enrollment for the class continues strong. The course is a one-credit
hour class that meets 3 times per week for a total of 6 weeks. Additionally, two sections of the course are offered
in both the fall and spring semesters. Below is a chart outlining course enrollment sInce the 2005-06 academic
year. The numbers represent the total enrollment for all sections of the class combined for each academic year.

OU Career Services offers students the opportunity to gain academic credit for their internships or
co-ops through the class CAS 4630. In this class, students may acquire 1-3 hours of credit depending on
the number of hours they work during their internship. Each student who participates in the class works
very closely with the Career Services Internship Coordinator, Mary Delaney and is required to complete
weekly materials including journals. Each student also writes a final report about their internship
experience and what they have learned. The numbers below indicate that the Gaylord College of
Journalism & Mass Communication students are taking advantage of the class for course credit.
