Accurately Detect OSNR
As WDM networks adopt higher transmission rates and become meshed, reliable network maintenance plays a more important role.
After the network rate is accelerated to 100 Gbit/s, the MCA-based spectrum detection method (also known as the scanning method) can no longer address the requirement of accurate system OSNR detection. The integral method can be used to accurately detect the OSNR of 100G services; however, services will be interrupted during the detection. It is a great challenge to develop an online OSNR detection tool to perform network maintenance.
On meshed networks, WDM services become more flexible, and frequent service adding and deletion make network commissioning and maintenance more complex. Traditional manual OSNR detection cannot address WDM network development requirements.
