To select Co-op, choose course code GLN4O0 (Navigating the Workplace) and submit a separate application (available in guidance or online) to the co-op teacher.

Co-op is offered as a 4 credit package only

The coop program supports all students: Authentic experience for all students: College, University, Apprenticeship (OYAP), and Dual Credit Program with college.

Students requiring a level change (i.e. ENG2D0 to ENG3C0) are asked to make an appointment with their Guidance Counsellor to review requirements for potential post secondary pathways.

Students will be given an instruction sheet as part of their course selection handout in December during homeroom assemblies. They should follow the instructions titled.

"Course Selection Process – 2012/2013“

Access to the On-line Course Selection Program will be available to students from December 5 to January 12

Students use birth date as their initial password

(YYMMDD) Students can change their own password during

the initial session. Can access the course selection program to

choose and make changes from Dec. 5 to January 12, 2012. Click submit to save. If students forget their password , see the

counselling secretary

Students will print the Student Course Verification Letter

Parents will review the selected program with their son/daughter and sign the letter to indicate their approval of the program

Students will return the signed and completed Student Course Verification Letter to their home form teacher by January 13

Students are asked to: Research all of their options carefully Talk to teachers who teach the course Attend our Course Selection Fair Talk to students who have taken the course Get information regarding workload and the type

of projects they will do (any presentations?) Select courses in which they will likely experience

success Have a back-up plan in case things do not work

out as expected Pay attention to post-secondary program

"Change of mind" changes may be made anytime before June 1st (This means for any reason!) .

Changes will be permitted based on course availability (master timetable is set)

"Change of mind" changes will not be done in September

only timetable changes that will be done in September are for students who have conflicts such as:

- course conflicts with another course

- a result of summer school

- no prerequisite for chosen course due to

a course failure in June

- unforeseen health issue
