Criterion 4 The procedures for inclusion of qualifications in the natioal framework are clear You never stop learning Criterion 4 For new qualifications: responsibility with the Lnder The degrees that currently exist in the German HE system, including those previously awarded, have been considered in the QF In this respect, the Lnder associated with the KMK and the KMK itself, in its capacity as the organisation responsible for adopting the qualifications framework, are responsible for considering further types of degrees or, in cases of doubt, for categorising the degrees Criterion 5 The national quality assurance systems for higher education refer to the national framework of qualifications and are consistent with the Berlin Communiqu and any subsequent communiqu agreed by ministers in the Bologna Process Criterion 5 Accreditation: programme level introduced 1998, additional option since 2008: Systems accreditation Decentralised agencies Central accreditation body: Accreditation Council Adopting the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area into its own standards for the accreditation of agencies and degree programmes These procedures and bodies were ivestigated: no change required (2007/2008) Criterion 6 The national framework and any alignments with the European framework are referenced in all Diploma Suppements Criterion 6 KMK drew up a generic version in German and in English Since 2008 based on an agreement by KMK and HRK explicit reference is given to the Qualifications Framework for Higher Education Qualifications Criterion 7 The responsibilities of the domestic parties to the national framework are clearly determined and published Criterion 7 The German framework provides orientational assistance for students, employers and employees and how these qualifications are to be assessed Mutual Trust Built on Part II Compatibility of the Procedural Standards German versus the European Qualifications Framework for Higher Education qualifications LO Question Standard Threshold Compatibility You never stop learning Standard 1 The competent national body/bodies shall certify the compatibility of the national framework with the European framework Fulfilled Standard 2 The self-certification process shall include the stated agreement of the quality assurance bodies in the country in question recognised through the Bologna Process Standard 2 The German Accreditation Council confirmed that the German Qualifications Framework was compatible with the Qualifications Framework for the European Higher Education Area Standard 3 The self-certification process shall involve international experts Fulfilled Standard 4 The self-certification and the evidence supporting it shall be published and shall address separately each of the criteria set out. Fulfilled: Published on the respective web sites Standard 5 The ENIC and NARIC networks shall maintain a public listing of States that have confirmed that they have completed the self-certification process. Standard 5 The Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) performs the role of ENIC/NARIC.
