Take equipment and supplies anywhere the mission calls.

Military forces need an edge. One that can force multiply, overcome the challenge and power through each mission. With field-proven performance and a high degree of parts commonality, the PLS truck and trailer deliver – decreasing the need for forklifts or other handling equipment with the self-ability to load and unload a wide range of cargo.

Both the PLS truck and trailer can haul a demountable flatrack or ISO container while climbing a 60 percent grade at full payload. Each flatrack secures as many as 10 supply pallets with a 16.5 ton (14969 kg) load capacity. A hydraulic arm and cargo hook can automatically load or unload the flatracks in less than 1 minute from the truck, and less than 5 minutes from both the truck and trailer. Keeping equipment and personnel exposure to a micro level, the driver can reposition each load within the safety of the cab; with minimal risk and maximum efficiency.

Moving forward, Oshkosh continues to evolve alongside the rigors of the modern battle. The PLS A1 meets the Army's need for heightened performance and LTAS compliance. Featuring a powerful 600 horsepower diesel engine, Oshkosh TAK-4® independent front suspension for greater off-road mobility, 6-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed Oshkosh® transfer case, the PLS A1 advances with each demand. Plus, the PLS A1 and HEMTT A4 are designed with a common cab – a B-kit ready feature that reduces the logistics footprint and streamlines training.

EMMs Engineering Mission Modules

Dramatically expand the mission profiles of your PLS chassis with Engineering Mission Modules (EMMs) from Oshkosh Defense. Engineered and built to meet the same level of performance as the PLS, the EMMs load on the truck like any cargo container, and tap into the truck's electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems through the Universal Power Interface Kit (UPIK). These modules are designed for a wide variety of operations, including building and repairing roads, firefighting, construction details and more. The EMMs are built to handle the most extreme conditions, and the most demanding duties, significantly increasing the capabilities of any PLS chassis.
