CORPORATE AND CONTINUING EDUCATION LAKE WORTH CAMPUS FALL 2019-1 COURSE SCHEDULE

G E N E R A L K N O W L E D G E T E S T ( G K T ) The FTCE GKT is a requirement for both transfer admissions into a Florida Education bachelor’s degree program as well as for attainment of an initial Florida Department of Education Professional Educator Certificate. These 4 or 8 hour courses will help prepare students to take and successfully pass the General Knowledge Test (GKT) Essay, English, Math, and Reading sections of the Florida Teacher Certification Exam. These courses are offered by each section of the exam. Student can register to take individual test prepa-ration courses or the entire GKT test preparation series.

S U B J E C T A R E A E X A M S ( S A E ) The FTCE Subject Area Exam is a requirement for attainment of an initial Florida Department of Education Professional Educator Certificate in the respective subject area the candidate is seeking. These 8 hour FTCE Subject Area Exam Test Preparation courses will help prepare students to take and successfully pass select subject area exams. We currently offer test preparation courses for Elementary Education K-6 and Exceptional Student Education K-12 (ESE) exams.

P R O F E S S I O N A L E D U C AT I O N T E S T The FTCE Professional Education Test is a requirement for attainment of the initial Florida Department of Education Professional Educator Certificate. This 8 hour FTCE Professional Education Test Preparation course will help prepare students to take and successfully pass the Professional Education Test.

Registering for Test Prep Courses

Returning Students who wish to Register Online: View all CCE courses on the CCE webpage. Scroll down to the “EDO” prefixed courses which are the FTCE Test Prep courses.

• Find the course you wish to register for, and click the REGISTER NOW link at the end of the line.

• You will see the class listing in the shopping cart & will be asked if you are a new or returning student.

• Returning students will be asked for their user name (student ID) and password (if you do not remember your password, click the link for "Don't know password?" and

follow the directions)

• Once logged in, you will be ready to complete your registration and pay for your class. New Students who wish to Register Online: View all CCE courses on the CCE webpage. Scroll down to the “EDO” prefixed courses which are the FTCE Test Prep courses.

• Find the course you wish to register for, and click the REGISTER NOW link at the end of the line.

• You will see the class listing in the shopping cart & will be asked if you are a new or returning student.

• For new students, select new, you will need to fill out the short application to get your Student ID and create a password

• Once you have logged in, you can complete the registration process and pay for your class.

Returning and New Students who wish to Register in person: Download and print out the Non-credit Application / Registration Form. Fill it out completely.

• Bring the completed REGISTRATION FORM with payment in full to the Registration Office at any of the four campus locations.

• Pay for your classes at the Cashier's Office.

DO NOT FORGET TO PAY FOR THE CLASS BY THE PAYMENT DUE DATE TO AVOID BEING DROPPED FOR NONPAYMENT. Register to take any of the FTCE tests at: www.fl.nesinc.com

F LO R I DA T E A C H E R C E R T I F I C AT I O N E X A M S ( F TC E ) The Florida Teacher Certification Exams (FTCE) are a requirement for attainment of an initial Florida Department of Education Professional Educa-tor Certificate. Palm Beach State College test preparation courses are open to any person wishing to prepare for select FTCE in the PK-12 levels. These courses are offered as Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) non-credit courses to help prepare students to successfully pass select exams. The objective of these courses is to review the competencies for the exam as well as give valuable study tools.
