About the DepartmentThe Department of Electrical Engineering
was started in the year 1996. The Department of
Electrical Engineering offers an undergraduate
program in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and
two Post-graduate programs in the specialization of
Power Systems Control & Automation and Power
Electronics & Drives. The department is accredited
by N.B.A in 2011. Placement for all the graduates
since inception has been very good. Many of the
allumni students are pursuing M.Tech in IITs, NITs
and M.S abroad.

Who Should attend?The program is for the teachers of TEQIP
networking institutions, AICTE approved Engineeringcolleges and Engineers working in the areas of PowerSystems, Power Electronics and Drives.
Application in the prescribed format duly
sponsored by the Head of the Institution along with the
registration fee of Rs.1000/- (for teaching faculty), Rs 500/-
(for students) and Rs. 2000/- (for industry participants) in
the form of a Demand Draft favoring “Head of the
Department Electrical & Electronics Engineering, GVP
College of Engineering” payable at Visakhapatnam on any
nationalized bank along with a stamped (Rs.5/-) self-
addressed envelope should reach the coordinator on or
before 20th August , 2012. The number of participants is
limited to thirty. The selected participants will be informed
on 1 st Sep, 2012 by e-mail.

GAYATRI VIDYA PARISHAD (GVP), a premier educationaltrust in the east coast of India, started its activities from 1989 andis managed by eminent educationalists, philanthropists andtechnocrats. The main goal of the trust is “ To promote, establishand assist in maintaining educational and other Institutions with aview to impart education to all branches in general and inadvanced technology beside Management, education and sciencein particular, and thus to facilitate graduates securing gainfulemployment”. Towards the fulfillment of this aim, the GVPstarted a Degree college in 1989.In 1992, a junior college wasstarted. In the following year a post graduate college wasstarted. In the following year a post graduate college wasstarted. As a further step towards promoting Technical Educationthe Engineering college was started in1996 with four brancheswhich were increased to seven in the subsequent years. AlsoM.Tech courses in all branches of Engineering are offered. Allseven undergraduate courses are accredited by AICTE for 3 to 5years. The college is accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade. The GVPCollege of Engineering has successfully completed three years ofAutonomy and entered into Final year.
The course covers certain fundamental topics in depth that
are not usually covered in the undergraduate curriculum. Thus the
course broadens the knowledge base of the participants and useful
for conducting research and instills confidence to teach the students
of UG and PG.
