The history of Jamia Hamdard began with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by

Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, a practitioner with the vision of making the practice of Unani medicine a

scientific discipline. In 1972, Hamdard College of Pharmacy was setup with the objective of providing

education and training in all branches of Pharmacy, which was given the Deemed University status in the

year 1989. Currently, Jamia Hamdard is engaged in imparting high quality teaching and research in the

disciplines of Pharmacy, Science, Medicine, Nursing, Management, Information Technology, Allied Health

Sciences, Islamic studies etc. In recognition of its excellent and academic achievements, Jamia Hamdard has

been accredited with 'A' Grade by National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC). It has recently

been ranked 26th amongst the top 100 universities in India by NIRF, Govt. of India.

Since its inception in 1972, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Formerly Faculty of

Pharmacy) has been committed towards promoting High Quality Teaching & Multidisciplinary Research.

School offers PCI, AICTE and UGC approved Diploma and Bachelors (Regular and Self-Financing) courses

in Pharmacy, Masters in Pharmaceutics, Quality Assurance, Chemistry, Analysis, Pharmacology, Pharmacy

Practice, Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and PhD in all the major disciplines. School

also runs PhD in Pharmaceutical Medicine in collaboration with Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. The

School encourages quality research programmes through collaboration with Industries and Government

Research Laboratories. The School has also made several research based contributions in the field of

pharmacy and has been ranked 1st amongst all the Pharmacy institutes in India by NIRF 2017, Govt. of

India.

All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) was set up in November 1945 as a national-level apex

advisory body to conduct a survey on the facilities available for technical education and to promote

development in the country in a coordinated and integrated manner. AICTE runs various schemes for the

development of Education sector like Staff Development Scheme, Research & Innovation Development

Scheme, Student Development Scheme, Institution Development Scheme etc. Seminar Grant of the AICTE

provides financial assistance to institutions for organizing Seminar / Workshop / Symposium of National and

International level in various fields of Technical Education. The Scheme intends to promote high standards

in Technical Education by way of extending opportunities to the academicians and working professionals by

providing a forum for sharing their knowledge, experiences and inventions.

INTRODUCTION TO THE CONFERENCEDrug regulation is a public policy response to the demands of public health and the changing needs of

Pharmaceutical industry. Thus, the objective of regulatory control is a question of achieving a ‘balance’

between protecting and promoting public health and facilitating the industry vis-à-vis compliance with

regulatory standards. Given the versatility and widespread domain of regulations the key focus areas of the

current conference would primarily be Medical Devices and Pharmacovigilance. The conference is

focused at bridging up the gap between the academia and industry through well meaning brainstorming

sessions which will help the participants gain insight into the industrial practicalities of regulatory affairs

and Pharmacovigilance.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Scientific papers are invited for poster and oral presentations. Original and unpublished work based should

be submitted online in MS word, Times New Roman, 12 font, 1.5cm spacing with maximum 250 words to

regulatoryconference2018@gmail.com. The acceptance of the abstract will be mailed by 7th February,

2018. Only registered candidates will be allowed to present the accepted papers and he/she must be one

of the co-authors of the paper during submission. The abstract should include title in capital, authors with

surname followed by initials and affiliations. The name of the presenting author should be indicated by

underlining the author. The size of the poster should not exceed 42×29.7cm (A3 size). Not more than one

abstract should be submitted by one author. Best posters will be awarded with a Cash Prize of Rs. 1000/-

. Scientific Oral presentation are invited from PhD scholars and faculty members. A time slot of 5-7

minutes will be allotted to the speaker for presenting his/her work. Young Investigator Award (Cash

Prize of Rs. 2000/-) will be presented to the best oral presentation .
