"We are extremely delighted to have Mr. Rama Raman here, a person whosedynamism is very well known to all of us," said Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman,IEML and Executive Director, EPCH, welcoming the guests and expressing hisgratitude for their benign presence at the IHGF Spring 2015 inaugurationceremony. Appreciating Mr. Raman's dynamism, Mr. Kumar spoke ofMr. Raman's insistence at taking steps forward to bring India Expo Centre toglobal media attention over the past three years. "Prior to that, we were inexistence but as a state of art facility such as this, all we needed was somerecognition," Mr. Kumar said and added that it was Mr. Raman whoseguidance gave that push. The Expo Centre has since hosted not just onebut three events of repute that were inaugurated by the Prime Minister ofIndia and one was graced by the President.

At the District Administration level of Gautam Budhnagar we have receiveda lot of support, Mr. Kumar said and added that in continuation to thissupport we have our new DM-Mr. N P Singh, who is known for hisdynamism in the past districts that he has served. He also thankedMr. Singh for accepting EPCH's invitation instantly and agreeing to gracethe inauguration ceremony. A special welcome was extended to Mr. PradipShetty, esteemed guest, who would help make inroads of India's exports toChina.

A glimpse of the informal media interactionafter the fair inauguration

Mr. Kumar took pride in mentioning that in Asia, India is the only countryexcept China that witnesses, at one time, handicrafts from over 2500exporters. This is a rare distinction and it is a matter of pride to beassociated with such an event. People behind this success are our memberexporters who have made us not only made EPCH, the largest exportpromotion council in the country but are also providing livelihood to over7000 million artisans in India, besides reaching out to several marketsoverseas.

Mr. Vinod Johari, President, Reception Committee, IHGF - Spring 2015, inhis address spoke of EPCH’s and IHGF’s humble beginnings and awholesome journey that had got them to reach out to buyers across theglobe. Buyers Comment...Visiting IHGF for the 37th time!

I am an importer and advisor; I am visiting IHGF

for the 37th time.

Having seen the fair

from its early days,

I feel that the fair is

fresher, cleaner and

more decent. I am

impressed by the

Jewelry, garments

and bags that I saw on today. I love that the

exporters are now ready to make custom made

products to suit the needs of the buyers. The

fair is now bigger with more space and better

marketing with EPCH reaching out to buyers

through various mediums and this brings IHGF

on level with other international fairs. I also feel

that the home décor section is getting better

and the designs are very good.

Bert DeMey, Holland

Especially loved the textile products with small beads

on them

I am here on behalf of my company, which has a chain of retail shops

all over Europe. I really liked the textiles and knobs that I saw today.

I specially loved the textile products with small beads on them. It is my

first visit to IHGF and I have seen some new items here. The fair is nice

but reaching here can be a little difficult. We mainly deal in furniture

and home décor products. The quality of the products is very good and I would love to see more.

I also source products from China; the main difference is that they offer more competitive prices,

but the skill and materials of the Indian exporters are better. Audrey, France

Exclusive as well as custom made

I’ve been visiting

IHGF since 2005 to

source products for

kitchen and home

décor. I am a

wholesaler and also

have two retail

stores. I have found

new items here. I also give my own designs and

get them custom-made here. I am happy with

the products and ambience. I see India’s

strengths in offering exclusive as well as custom

made goods. Jihad Raad, Lebanon

Indians have the best

understanding of European taste

We are Spain

based wholesaler

and cater to mix

market. We are

here for furniture,

lamps, carpets,

bone and glass

products. This is

my family business which we started 15-20

years back. Apart from Indi we also source

our products from Philippines, Thailand and

Japan. But I feel that Indians have the best

understanding of European taste, necessity

imagination. Though China is a big

competition for Indian market but they fail

to match Indian quality. Most importantly we

feel coming to India is like a present,

anywhere else its ‘work’. But scope for

improvement is always there and IHGF fairs

are on right track.

Javier Ussia, Spain

Impressive products made us return

I run my wholesale

company in United

Kingdom. We have been

in the business from

past 25 years and deal in

glass and metalware.

Initially we used to

source goods from India

but stopped doing so few years back. It was one of

the international fairs two years back where we

saw the India product which impressed us. This

made us to return to IHGF fairs. Beyond India we

also source our products from China and Hong

Kong. However, Chinese market lacks variation and

this is strength of Indian market. Indian products

come with a quality assurance. Varied designs

works as icing on the cake. Compared to past, now

fairs in India are much better.

Gill Brier, UK

Sampling time in Indian is less

I am US based

wholesaler for

home decor,

fashion

accessories and

jewellery and

this is my first

visit to India.

Indian products I saw in the Spring Fair,

Birmingham impressed me. I got to know

about the fair through internet. Quality and

design of Indian products makes them a

hot pick. Especially, the designs here are

spot on. As Indian products are in trend it

will make sourcing an easy task. I have

been sourcing products from Kenya,

Philippines and Vietnam. Sampling time in

Indian is less, so it is adding on to my good

experience. Also, they are good people to

do business with. This show is a good

package. If things go well I might replace

Frankfurt fair with IHGF Fairs from my

business schedule. Maura Lall, USA

Ordered a lot of décor stuff

I am the owner of Pieter Porters Collections.

We are Belgium

based wholesalers.

We deal in interior

décor and cater to

high and medium

end market. I have

been visiting India

for past three years.

Apart from India, I also source my products

from Indonesia, China and Italy. Doing business

in India has always been an amazing

experience. We have ordered a lot of décor

stuff today but hope to add more on the

list tomorrow. The ‘unfinished chandeliers’ with

one of the exhibitors which were rough and

looked antique have impressed me a lot. The

arrangements are perfect and well in place.

I wish to visit IHGF every year.

Pieter Porters, Belgium

Looking primarily for cushions and rugs

l manage Lindell & Co based in Paris. We have been coming to India

for past two years majorly to observe the designing & manufacturing

of home furnishing. This is my third visit to IHGF fair. I am looking

primarily for cushions and rugs. Apart from India we also import from

France and Nepal. I find Varanasi very interesting compared to IHGF,

for carpets. I feel that these fairs carter more to the high end and

wholesale market. I am hopeful for improvement in future.

Really excited to see things here

I am a wholesaler and I am

really excited to see

things at the fair. I am here

for lamps, give aways, gifts

and home décor.

Impressed by wooden photo-frames

I am an internet retailer and I deal in all segments of

products exhibited in IHGF.

It is my first visit to IHGF and

I am delighted to see the

variety and designs

available here. Out of all the

products, I liked the carpets

and metal products the

most. I am also impressed

by some wooden photo-frames that I saw. I source

products from both India and China. After visiting IHGF,

I think that I will be sourcing more of my products

from India as the quality here is better.

Kuznetsov Alexander, Russia

Mr. Shetty, who has been based in China for over

20 years, feels that we can learn humility and

hospitality from the Chinese companies. Talking

about the rich cultural heritage that India has, he

said that “India is lucky to have had the

forefathers we had, who gave us such a rich

culture; we are now selling culture through our

handicrafts”. He said that the Chinese market is

opening for Indian handicraft items as there is

very high buying capacity and they have great

regard for Indian traditions, culture and

handicrafts. Mr. Shetty mentioned that he saw

the fair and felt that Metals from Moradabad and

Wooden Items from Jaipur and Jodhpur will be

received well in the Chinese markets. He also

said that to enter the Chinese markets we need

to focus on Premium Hand made products with

superb quality and finish.

Mr. Pradip Shetty

The Chinese market is opening

Three factor gain for me- Quality,

Price and Design!

We are based in

Korea and run a

franchise chain in

Vietnam, Korea,

France and Dubai

for home decor

and furniture. This

my first visit to

India and I am impressed. A product impressed

me in Paris which was ‘Made in India’. I

searched for Indian products online and got to

know about this fair. As we were going through

ten ‘no business days’ we decided to explore

Indian market. This is the first day and I have

already confirmed orders with a couple of

exhibitors here. It’s a three factor gain for me-

Quality, Price and Design! The lighting, linen

and bedding fabric products are good. Though I

am a little disappointed with the attitude of big

exhibitors I must accept that doing business

with Indians is much easier.

Kim Min Ju & associate, Korea

Variety here never lets you

down

I am US

based

wholesaler

dealing in

hand bags,

jewellery,

pots and

wooden

products. My 15 years of experience

includes 13 years of business with

Indian exporters and IHGF fairs.

I source only Indian products. The

variety never lets you down but this

fair is a little disappointing on that

front. However, the quality is better.

I don’t come to the Autumn Fair as it

clashes with our fair chain in US.

I always enjoy buying in India. This

time I also want to experiment a bit

with gift items. The fair has grown

enormously with time. For me the

exhibitors in Halls have improved.

David Hinson, USA

Space for Indian products in Sweden

is expanding continuously

We are Swedish wholesaler for bone, wood

and glass products

and cater to high

and medium end

markets. We are

associated with

Indian exporters

from past 11 years.

We also source our

products from

Indonesia, Nepal, Poland, Russia and England.

Indian variety is unbeatable. I cannot say that

IHGF fair is one of the best fairs across the

globe but it is certainly evolving with time.

Innovation by Indian exporters should be

appreciated. Innovative designs make people

buy a lot. The space for Indian products in

Sweden is expanding continuously. Organizers

should work on better handling of food in the

Buyers lounge and more seating area is a must

for them.

Elias Valbo & associate, Sweden

Indian products are our

favorite

Our

lighting

products. We are based in Korea. Apart

from India we also source our products

from China & Indonesia. Indian

products are our favorite because of

the quality and design. My boss has

been coming here for the past seven

years. I also feel that exhibitors should

work a bit towards increasing the

variety and innovation. My best wishes

are with the organizers.

Indian products receive a great reception in Israel

I am general manager of Paldinox Import and Marketing

Company based in Israel. We have been sourcing from

India for past five years. We import mainly from India

and a bit from China. The Indian products receive a great

reception in Israel. They find a good market over there.

We feel that the quality of Indian imports is pretty good

as compared to the other countries. The prices here are

economical which adds to the buying experience.

With theenhanced ambience and most Marts open in continuity - especially on theground floor, buyers found good reason to visit the exhibitors there. Theones who made most of thevisual merchandisingopportunity, also using the aislesides, were at a distinctadvantage and saw encouragingbuyer footfall. Also, therestoration of one registrationcounter to the original place, i.e.between the Mart entrances
