EMPLOYEE There are a total of 132 employees Every employee knows its job and work goals Employee enjoys one holiday in a week Salaries are paid on the 7TH day of every month Food is provided to all the employees Drivers and mechanics are also given shelter

employees Drivers and mechanics are controlled by the coordinators

SHAREHOLDERS Small Vehicle Rent Agencies provide vehicles to UTS Ordinary individuals provide their vehicles on rent There are total of 22 shareholders The major Shareholders are:1. AMBER TOURS2. QADRI TRAVELS3. AHMAD TRANSPORT SERVICE4. CHAUDRY MUHAMMAD IQBAL

UTS hire vehicles from these shareholders incase of shortage of vehicles.The shareholders are paid there rent on 23rd Day of every month

ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR CONCEPTS

COMMUNICATION The Direction of flow of communication in UTS is:

UPWARDS: Every employee can talk directly to the higher authorities and to the owner

DOWNWORDS: The owner gives information and the strategies to the workers directly. The owner communicates directly with the drivers for any purpose.

COMMUNICATIONLATERAL: Inter person, inter department communication is very strong in the UTS. Drivers communicates easily with the admin, accounts and technical staff

and vice versa

EXTERNAL: The owner and the managers communicates easily with the shareholders,

customers and government agencies.

BEHAVIOREMPLOYEE-EMPLOYER BEHAVIOR: The behavior of employee with the employer is very cooperative, loyal, sincere and positive

The behavior of employer with the workers positive and encouraging

But sometimes harsh, negative and discouraging behavior is seen

Due to this, many workers fear from the employer and gives best performance

BEHAVIOREMPLOYEE-EMPLOYEE BEHAVIOR: The behavior between the employees is very good and positive. There is a friendly and cooperative environment

All the workers work with harmony to achieve the company’s goals.

EMPLOYER’S PERCEPTION Employer always wants best from the workers No mistakes Any mistake by the worker results in a harsh behavior of

employer The owner sets a negative perception about the worker

who commits mistake While the good worker has a good perception in the mind

of the owner Mostly, Recency Effect is seen in the perception error by

the owner

MARS MODELMOTIVATION: To enhance employee motivation UTS is using one to one meetings strategy.

The managers and the coordinators motivates the drivers and the mechanics

Performance appraisal technique is also used to motivate the workers

All the workers are given their directions and goals

The owner personally coordinates with the drivers and motivates them

MARS MODELABILITIES: Every worker is competent and best professional in the field The workers are hardworking, cooperative and loyal to the work

ROLE PERCEPTION: Every worker knows his duties Work is divided mutually Every worker is loyal to its role and duties

SITUATION: Some times the workers are late, sick or absent due to any reason But Situation does not apply in long run

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL Extra Holidays are given to best workers Bonus is awarded to the worker how

workers overtime Late comers and absentees are fined 500

per day On Eid and Ramazan, the workers are

given Extra Rs.3000 The driver who maintains and washes his

vehicle daily is given bonus and appreciated by the owner

Raw food items like Wheat, Rice, Cooking oil and sugar are distributed among the workers during the month of Ramazan

COLLECTIVISM AND INDIVIDUALISM All the employees work in collaboration with each other to achieve

company’s goals The divisional heads cooperate with each other and with the workers to

make the company best in business Some employees work hard and gives best individual performances to gain

bonus and to get promotion

DISTRIBUTIVE JUSTICE: Wages are given on the basis of work Extra work done by the employee is paid Every worker is treated equally

LEARNING AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT The employees are trained after hiring The drivers are given trainings to repair a vehicle for any emergency

situation on road. First Aid training is provided to the drivers Fire Safety training is also given to the drivers

CULTURAL DIVERISTY UTS has workers from different parts of the world with different culture. UTS operates in whole Pakistan, from Khyber to Karachi and from Lahore to

Peshawar, the customers have diversified culture The managers and the owners took decisions only after considering the

values and norms of different culture.

BENEFITS TO EMPLOYEES Food and shelter is provided to the workers Medical expenses of the worker and his family are paid by the company Incase of accident, the worker is given leave till his fitness with full salary. Incase of accident, the vehicle repair is done by the company Provides tuition benefits to the studying workers

FLAWS Harsh behavior of owner on any mistake by worker Less number of office staff and coordinators No promotional techniques are used Accidental Life Insurance is not provided to the drivers

RECOMMENDATIONS The owner should make his behavior positive Motivation should be done from the owner Owner’s positive attitude will enhance company’s and worker’s efficiency More office staff should be hired Coordinators should be hired to make easy and fast communication

between drivers and the office staff Advertisement and promotional adds should be used to gain more

customers News paper adds should be used Drivers should be provided with Life Insurance policy to support his family

in case of accident
