Page 4: Ordination intensive 2014

Webster’s Definition: One who is solemnly dedicated or “committed to,” as having been “set apart” for a high purpose and appointment.

Jesus Definition: “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordainedyou (appointed you), that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” -John 15:16 (KJV)

Never Forget: Christ Central Doesn’t ORDAIN anyone… Jesus does the ordaining and we simply recognize God’s hand on your life through the certification process. This is an act of approval not

an act of bestowal.

Place

Set

This appointment is to be considered “set apart” from traditional vocational paths by the one fulfilling the appointment (The missionary) and by the one doing the appointment (Jesus through the ministry of Christ Central).

Ordination

The Ordination Process:

Page 7: Ordination intensive 2014

5 The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint (Ordain) elders in every town, as I directed you. 6 An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. 7 Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. 8 Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined. 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

Missionary for small country community. Must be 28 years old with at least 30 years of missions experience. Your mission strategy is to be life-transforming, enjoyable to all, and must require zero funds. Must have a heart for the youth, but work well with the elderly. Must participate in all community sporting and political events, visit every hospitalized person in your ministry, and perfectly run board meetings according to Robert’s Rules of Order. Needs successful negotiating skills, a quality singing voice, and a spouse who never speaks, but plays the piano perfectly. Skills needed for repairing all computer and sound equipment, the mission vehicles, and the bathroom plumbing. Office hours 6am-12 midnight everyday all year, because missionaries don’t need a break. We know your not human. Must wear Armani or Brookes Brothers suits in-between the daily trash take out and yard work. Must regularly organize community outreaches, make 30 house calls per day, have continuous availability in the ministry office and be sitting by the phone whenever it rings. Truth in General

People with a radically different view of God and the Bible will have a radically different view on:

Page 21: Ordination intensive 2014

As we are busy squabbling over various “secondary” doctrines our culture is re-writing the script on “central” doctrines such as: The Doctrine of:

God Today the fasting growing

belief structure in the western world is Atheism.

Sin Today many don’t believe in

absolute “right and wrong.” Sin isn’t considered sin anymore.

Biblical authority Today the bible isn’t

understood as the infallible, inerrant, inspired word of God

Sexuality Today the GLBT agenda has

expanded. 17 states allow same sex marriage. Who’s doing their weddings?

Page 22: Ordination intensive 2014

Regardless of your current report card… the fact is God’s calling us as missionaries to align ourselves with these

qualities and to live out our ordination!

This semester at CCI Joshua Gilmore will be teaching “Biblical Foundations” on Thursday mornings from 9-11:45am

The class is free, and it’s going to be a lot of FUN!
