CONsTRUCTION DETAILsThe luminaire consists of a main housing with a drop-hinged

optical compartment support tray, enclosing the separate

control gear and optical compartments.

The luminaire is designed to operate high-pressure sodium or

metal halide lamps in either 70W, 150W or 250W, or 2*150W

metal halide lamps.

sABs MARKsThe luminaire bears the SANS 60598-2-3 safety mark.

INGREss pROTECTIONThe luminaire has a degree of protection that complies with

SANS 60598-2-3:

Optical compartment: IP 66 - Sealsafe®

Control gear compartment: IP 44

hOUsING• The body is manufactured from high-quality die-cast

aluminium.

• The optical compartment support is attached to the

underside of the body and is hinged to allow for ease of

access for maintenance. A single wingnut-style handle allows

quick opening of the luminaire.

• The spigot entry mounting is incorporated into the body and

allows for side entry mounting.

• A silicon sponge gasket is fitted into a special groove in the

housing. This, in conjunction with the tongue on the optical

compartment support and the long overhang of the main

housing, ensures the optimal sealing of the total enclosure

and thereby maintains the certified IP 44 ingress protection

rating for the control gear compartment.

OpTICAL COMpARTMENT• The optical compartment consists of a polished and anodised

aluminium reflector and curved glass protector.

• Each optical compartment is equipped with a one-piece

Sealsafe® reflector, which ensures the long-term IP rating of the

lamp compartment.

• The protector glass is impact resistance rated to IK08.

CONTROL GEAR COMpARTMENT• The control gear is mounted upon a removable corrosion-

resistant steel gear tray.

• The control gear is suitable for operation with the specified

lamps on a 230V +3%/-10% at 50Hz, single phase supply.

• The control gear bears the relevant SABS mark.

• Mains connections are by means of a suitable screw terminal

block with a wire clamping contact.

• The luminaire is power factor corrected to a minimum of 0,9.
