If you missed the research on sleep requirements we printed in last week’s newsleƩer… look again. This is a great talking point with your children, right up to the age of young adults. Get your children to look at a clock and work out if they are geƫng enough sleep. Their bodies are so busy growing, thinking, developing and trying to rejuvenate from a day’s work, sleep is not to be taken lightly. Everything works beƩer when sleep is right. A thoughtenough sleep is just as important for good health as nutriƟon and exercise. Trophy Cabinet At the front oce the school has collected the trophies and placed them in a new cabinet where they are all on display in the one spot. Previously trophies have been on display around various parts of the school. It is lovely to see these all in one spot for our school community to appreciate. Thank you to the P&C for their part in the donaƟon of this specially designed cabinet. It will be well used for many years to come. UnjusƟed Absences What does this mean? If a child is away from school for a reason that is deemed preventable or not enough detail is supplied to a class teacher, the absence from school can be considered not a good enough reason for being away and missing educaƟon. When wriƟng to a teacher either via note or the school APP, it is important to remember that details are required for an absence to be jusƟed. If there is a personal maƩer, this can be discussed in condence with the class teacher or the execuƟve. Every day of educaƟon is important and for this reason we monitor closely each student at our school. Flagpole Thank You At the front of the school we proudly hang our ags. In the past week our ag poles have been given a new lease on life and are now looking very handsome. This was not an easy task and I would like to thank Mr Angus Radburn for using his own Ɵme and machinery to lower the pole and move it to a posiƟon where it could be painted. Mr Campbell then used his painƟng skills to smarten the white and again Mr Radburn returned to have the pole back in its righƞul posiƟon. With new ropes and fresh paint we expect the pole to last a number of years more. AppreciaƟon to all those involved in this project taking place. Best Wishes As some of you maybe aware Miss Prout has taken leave for the remainder of the year. We wish her well in the treatment of her breast cancer and look forward to her healthy return in 2017. Annie Munro, Principal (R) New Furniture in the Library Students and staare presently enjoying new contemporary furniture in the library. Many posiƟve comments have been received from users of the library around the colour style and comfort of the new furniture. Students and staare extremely grateful and thank the P&C for this most generous donaƟon. Feel free to call in for a look next Ɵme you are visiƟng our school.
