don’t take the veggie lunch.

• No races on the big screens this year. Did have local

rock bands playing between North and South.

• Talked our way into the Java Events. I guess it’s “open

source”.


Fun Parts of OpenWorld

• Oracle talks about Analytics, but not always a concrete

message

• Visualization is hugely important

• Successful firms are actively developing analytics

• Oracle focused on cloud

• Oracle BI will change a lot in next few years

• Everybody in BI and analytics needs to learn Big Data

• Oracle should use database as a compute engine

• R will be everywhere in analytic applications
