Volunteer abroad with AIESEC’s Global Citizen program that connects students and recent graduates to voluntary projects

across the world. This process is entirely student-operated with AIESEC members working to produce the best quality exchanges possible. Our goal is to send young people in the United States

on programs that will develop local communities and global mindsets. Each project lasts between 6 and 12 weeks and is exclusively available for those that utilize AIESEC’s services.

We are partnered with 125 other countries, but we have close partnerships with:

Bahrain, Czech Republic, Poland, Taiwan, RomaniaPanama, Malaysia, China, Hungary, Mauritius, Ghana, Colombia,

Argentina, Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Thailand, Kenya

We also offer professional internships around the globe through our Global Talent program.

THE ISSUESIn AIESEC, our mission is to create peace and fulfillment of human-kind’s potential. We believe that the Global Citizen program can create this impact by focusing on issues affecting local communities. We’ve divided our projects into these three issues for young people to volunteer abroad in:

Social Entrepreneurship-Develop professional skills in new cultural settings

-Hands-on experience working with NGOs and small businesses in communities

-Develop relevant and culturally suitable solutions to local problems

-Fields of marketing, microfinance, NGO manage-ment, social business, or organizational development

Environmental Awareness-Protect the environment and directly impact commu-nities struggling with moving towards becoming a little bit greener-Promote and participate in sustainable development projects -Areas in energy conservation, pollution, cli-mate change, flora and fauna conservation, recycling, and waste management

Youth Empowerment-Engage in the development of youth in communities

where education and access to literacy is uncommon-Immersed in the local culture, gaining and offering a

global perspective to local communities-Areas in literacy, social work, youth education, or

cross-cultural awareness

Projects

The seven-week project will be divided in two parts. The first part will be comprised of training the interns and the second part will be interns applying what they learned by facilitating conver-sation groups in English about current, relevant topics for global issues and professional and personal development.

Gira Mundo-Arts

July 4-August 6, 2015

Develop and present workshops as well as dynamic lessons about different types of arts to the children, youth and adults in NGOs. In case the intern has a specific artistic talent, be prepared to give workshop related to it, but also to present and create workshops using all different types of artistic language (music, painting, cinema, dance, etc).

Be creative, proactive and ready to adapt yourself to different type of publics, working conditions and envi-ronment. Lessons need to be creative and use different type of arts to engage people.

Plan, promote, and conduct art events during the last week of the project to engage the people of the NGOs and also present the results of what was taught during the Gira Mundo Arts Project.

Write a booklet with ideas, methods and examples of workshops and information on how to use arts as tool to create positive impact.

AACC means Associação dos Amigos da Criança com Cancer and the main work of the institution is to pro-vide treatment and developing activities for children suffering from cancer.

For Smarketing project, the Job Descriptions are the following:1-Create and run fundraising strategies in the NGO;2-Create and run strategies for brand positioning in the city and gather the attention and awareness of the population;3-Enhance the marketing strategies through social medias and websites;4-Get along with partnership strategies of the institu-tion and enhance the existing network between AACC and other institutions.

LANguage educationin blumenau, Brazil

Projects

Work with underprivileged youth in Brazilian public schools and NGOs to develop and present workshops using Olympic sports as a tool to teach life skills and themes such as the following: diver-sity, tolerance, healthy life, social responsibility, leadership, teamwork, etc.

Choose an Olympic sport, teach the theory and rules of it to the youth, train them in the sport and organize a final championship with them..

Plan and organize, together with the youth, a final sport event and campaign to happen in the last week of the project.

Help develop and promote leadership among the youth in the public schools/NGOs to be ambassa-dors for the Project and the themes taught in the project.

June 14-August 9, 2015

The intern will work at an NGO for children doing classes in Blumenau, Santa Catarina - BRAZIL.

Topic of classes are culture and language. Intern is delivering classes based on his own culture (flag, everything that represent your country and culture).

Interns plan the content of classes by their own. They should be interesting and interactive, must provide the participants with knowledge, skills and attitudes listed in the preparation materials.

The classes must contain the basic language learning of English or Spanish and show them the importance of diversity and teamwork.

Teach them numbers, colors, animals and part of their bodies. Use your creativity to sing and tell them histories.

Sports educationin recife, Brazil

For Mozaiko project, the job descriptions are the following:1-Run a SWOT analysis of the institution;2-Create and run strategies to enhance efficacy of the projects provided by the institution;3-Provide training for the main team that runs the institution’s projects;4-Provide training about organization and planning; 5-Create and run strategies to enhance the business efficacy in the institution.6-Enhance the organizational aspects of the financial structure.
