1.9 Operation Precautions
It is forbidden to modify the system time of the server during the T2000operation. Please set the system time during the T2000 installation. To modifythe system time of the server, do exit from the T2000 server first and thenrestart it after the modification.
Do not modify the name and IP address of the computer as T2000 serverrandomly.
Log in the Solaris CDE as t2000 on the UNIX platform. While on the Windowsplatform, you must use the user name and password in the T2000 installationfor login.
Make sure the data at NE side is consistent with that at the NM side. When theNE data configuration is finished and runs normally, please update the data atthe NM side manually or with auto synchronization function.
Backup the T2000 database periodically to minimize the loss caused bysystem abnormity.
If the login user has the authority of system administrator, the operation ofShut Down Server can be implemented. Be cautious to execute thisoperation to avoid shutting down the running server by mistake.
It is recommended to query the latest data from the NE side before settingsparameters.
Usually, when a dangerous operation is going to be implemented, the T2000will give a confirmation message to remind the operator.

2.1 Creating NEs
There are several ways to create NE icons.
2.1.1 Searching NEs in Batch
Purpose
It is to search for the NE ID information of all NEs in a network and the IP addressesof the gateway NEs by specifying the IP address range of a network to be searched.
Based on the above information, you can create NEs in batch on the T2000 anddisplay them on the Main Topology. The equipment search function of the T2000 canalso be used to search for and display the information about connection betweenNEs, but you need to manually create these fibers/cables one by one.
Searching for and creating NEs in batch is quicker and more accurate than manuallycreating NEs one by one. This method applies to the situation that data has beenconfigured on the NE side and fiber/cable connection has been established betweenNEs.
Prerequisite
NM user with the authority of "system maintainer" or above.
Procedure
Step Action1 Select [Topology/Automatic Equipment Detection] from the Main
Menu.
2 Click . The Input IP dialog box is displayed.
3 Set Address Type to IP Network Section the GNE Is in or GNEIP Address, and enter the IP address. Click .
Note:
You can repeat steps 2~3 to add multiple search fields. The default
search field provided can be deleted.
4 Click . The NEs and Links found are displayed aftersearch.
5 Select the uncreated NE in the NEs Found list and click . The Current NE ID is dialog box is displayed.
