OPERATION MANEATER
Veterinarian Mark Evans uses technology to tackle three deadly predators: the great white shark, Nile crocodile and polar bear. When these animals attack humans, both sides lose. As more people are killed or maimed, more animals are killed in retaliation. Evans wants to find ways to break this circle of violence and protect both humans and animals. Follow him as he tries out ingenious high-tech solutions to the most hostile wildlife conflicts on Earth.
Three part series airs Thursdays at 7PM and Sundays at 5PM beginning September 18th

F.S. KEY AND THE SONG THAT BUILT AMERICA
F.S. Key and the Song That Built America celebrates the 200th anniversary of Francis Scott Key’s writing of America’s national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Key, a constitutional lawyer, famously penned the lyrics following the 12-hour bombardment of Ft.
McHenry in September 1814. Against a backdrop of history, and through the eyes of Key’s loving wife Polly (played by Deborah Hazlett), the film highlights Key’s personal life, legal career and artistic development. The documentary covers Key’s major cases (including the Aaron Burr conspiracy), his vehement opposition to the War of 1812, his enlistment in the militia, his participation in the ill-fated defense of Washington, D.C., and his penchant for poetry and art.

NOVA: FINDING LIFE BEYOND EARTH
Scientists are on the verge of answering one of the greatest questions in history: Are we alone? Combining the latest telescope images with dazzling CGI, “Finding Life Beyond Earth” immerses audiences in the sights and sounds of alien worlds, while top astrobiologists explain how these places are changing how we think about the potential for life in our solar system. We used to think our neighboring planets and moons were fairly boring — mostly cold, dead rocks where life could never take hold. Today, however, the solar system looks wilder than we ever imagined. Powerful telescopes and unmanned space missions have revealed a wide range of dynamic environments — atmospheres thick with organic molecules, active volcanoes and vast saltwater oceans. This ongoing revolution is forcing scientists to expand their ideas about what kinds of worlds could support life. If we do find primitive life forms elsewhere in the solar system, it may well be that life is common in the universe — the rule, and not the exception.
ARE WE ALONE airs Tuesday September 16th at 7PM and Sunday, September 21st at 6PMMOONS AND BEYOND airs Tuesday, September 23rd at 7PM and Sunday September 28th at 6PM

EL TALLER
Proyecto Teatro aims to make the arts accessible to the entire community, regardless of income levels, and to reduce social and cultural differences of society. For actor and director Alejandro Pedemonte creating a space that leads to human development through the arts was his main goal when he created Talleres Infantiles, a year round Spanish language art program for mostly low income students. We follow a group of students and volunteers for a year as they work together to improve their community while maintaining their culture alive.

Veterinarian Mark Evans uses technology to tackle three deadly predators: the great white shark, Nile crocodile and polar bear. When these animals attack humans, both sides lose. As more people are killed or maimed, more animals are killed in retalia-tion. Evans wants to find ways to break this circle of violence and protect both humans and animals. Follow him as he tries out ingenious high-tech solutions to the most hostile wildlife conflicts on Earth.

BECOMING CALIFORNIA
Becoming California is an epic story of en-vironmental change on America’s western edge. From geologic origins hundreds of millions of years ago to present day and beyond, Becoming California takes a look at change on a grand scale. It reveals how humans’ approach toward the environ-ment dictates the nature of change, and how a shift in attitudes can foster healthy, functioning ecosystems amidst vibrant economies, sustaining not just nature, but people, too.
