B. Quick start-up

1. Connect your computer and the Commu Easy with a network cable (see Ethernet connector at Easy). 2. Do the external wiring (for details see page 3). You need at least an external power supply (12-24Vdc);

connecting the external power supply with “V+” and “GND”-pins on Easy. 3. Open your Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) and type in the command line: http://commu. 4. Now carry out the settings in the internal web server. In the functions overview you will find a short description

of all possible functions. Choose which features you want to implement - in the corresponding chapter you will

find detailed descriptions of the settings to be applied. 5. Alternatively, the configuration can also be saved on a micro-SD memory card (recommended). 6. Switch the external power supply off and insert the SIM card into the SIM card holder - please note the insertion

direction (see Figures 3, page 4). Important: disable PIN lock before! Switch on the external power supply.

D. Insert SIM-Card and micro-SD In order to insert the SIM Card and Micro-SD Card, open the

casing on both side plates – see Figure for the side plate.

Lift the upper part of the casing over the side plate; do not press the side plate too hard, they might break off.

Warning: Be careful – don’t touch any electronic components.

Danger of electrostatic charges/discharges (use of ESD protection required).

Open and closie the casing carefully, don’t damage the antenna cable.

E. General Functions E.1. Sending messages Description: A basic function of the device is to send messages via SMS /Email/Phonecall in case of an error occured. The alarm system

can be triggered by the connected signals. (for example if the motion detectors senses something or in case a power meter is connected to the input, if the consumption per logging interval is too high). The messages can also be triggered

by a combination of two signals. Also a single signal can trigger several messages. The sending of messages can also perform in a cyclical manner. For example a message can be sent automatically once a week, to report the actual status of

all connected signals. In total there are 20 messages available. A maximum of 12 users can be notified. In case the device connected to a network that has access to internet, it is also possible to send emails over this network.

Settings via internal web browser:

The exact description of the input boxes are described in the section, ‘Konfiguration über Webbrowser’ / Configuration via web browser’.

User: Enter the telephone numbers and email addresses of the users that have to be alerted. Please enter the name of these users as well. In case this entry is empty, this person becomes “inactive” and will not be alerted.

Inputs: Now adjust the names of the inputs. Even the inputs that are not in use they can be turned off, if the

corresponding name is deleted. Switch on inversion for digital signals (in case inversion is used for the input, Normal status is equivalent to “1”, Error is equivalent to “0”).

Messages: Here you can configure the alerts and set the following: when should an alert be triggered, what is the reason for the alert to be triggered, what should be the content of the message and which users should receive the

message? Even a name should be given to each message in order to activate the message. If you want to connect a power meter to the counter input in order to trigger an message, please refer to Chapter E.4

Triggering of Messages /Switching of Outputs by Meters.

Content of messages: You have to create a unique name for the device that can be used to differentiate between different devices. You

can also configure the additional information that sent with the message like the actual status of the input or output signals.

SIM-options: Here you can set the parameters for the SIM-card. In addition it needs to be specified whether the Emails sent

with SMS (over an automatic SMS-Email Gateway) or over a connected network.

Status settings (optional): In order to check the functions of the device, it can be beneficial to configure the signal quality of the SIM-card

and display also the actual modem status. The current modem activity can be seen in the STATUS display.

Changing settings via SMS: The following settings can be requested and changed via SMS. The exact descriptions of the required SMS texts can be found in the chapter H: Configuration and access through SMS.

● User name, Telephone Number und Email-Address (command: Bxx)

● Name of the Inputs (command: Exx)

● Alert Message und Threshold Value of the Message (command : Mxx)

● Name of the device (command: GER)

Warnings:

● To send messages via SMS, a SIM card is required.

● Send emails via SMS: Here an SMS is sent, that includes the email address in the first place. This received SMS is

converted into an email by a SMS-to-Email-Gateway owned by LeP GmbH located in Vienna, Austria. Sending attachments at this SMS is not possible (such as logging data or image data). In addition, the text is limited to

160 characters minus the length of the email address.

E.2. Switching Outputs Description:

This device can be used to turn on or off third party devices or equipment components remotely. For example, the heating

can be switched on or external control systems can be reset. There are 2 relay outputs that can be switched either via SMS, Call or automatically depending on the state of the input signals.

The outputs can either be switched permanently, or as a pulse. In the first case, a ‘switch-on condition’ and a ‘switch-off condition’ need to be configured. While, in the second case only one ‘switch-on condition’ needs to be configured. If the

“switch-on condition” is fulfilled, then the output is activated once for the configured time and then will be deactivated again.

The output is switched again only when the ‘switch-on condition’ is no longer met and met again thereafter. Two input signals can also be combined for the switch-on and off conditions.

Basically it can be distinguished whether a call from any phone number should lead to the switching action, or only from specific phone numbers. Up to 12 phone numbers can be saved in the user lists that are autorized to switch outputs.

User (optional): If an output can be switched only by a call from specific phone numbers then insert the phone numbers here. Please be sure to also enter the user's name.

Inputs (optional): If the outputs need to be switched in response to input signals, then meaningful names need to be used for the input signals. Inputs that are not used can be disabled by deleting the corresponding name. If requested switch

on inversion for digital signals (in case inversion is used for the input, Normal status is equivalent to “1”, Error is

equivalent to “0”).

Outputs: Here you can configure the name of the outputs and under what conditions they can be switched. In case you

are using an input for a power meter in order to switch the outputs you can find the description for that in the chapter: E.4 Triggering of Alerts /Switching of Outlets through Meters.

SIM-options: In order to switch the outputs remotely the SIM-card needs to be switched on.

Security settings: Every SMS that is sent to the device must start with the correct password (consists of 4 digits). Normally the password setting is deactivated then the message must start with “#” instead of the password. In case a

password is required, this can be set and changed here.

Changing the settings via SMS:

The following settings can be requested and changed via SMS. The exact descriptions of the required SMS-text can be found in the chapter G: “Configuration and access through SMS”.

● User name, Telephone Number und Email-Address (command: Bxx)

● Name of the Input (command: Exx)

● Name of the outputs - automatically the SMS text is changed:

For switching on the SMS Text is: 'New Name' ein For switching off the SMS Text is: 'New Name' aus

Switching the outputs via SMS: The outputs are switched based on the SMS text. The switch-SMS must always have the SMS-password in the beginning or if the password is deactivated must contain the symbol “#” in the beginning.

Example: Switch-on condition for output 1 is with the SMS-Text “Heating on” and the SMS Password is deactivated.

> SMS with the text ‘# Heating on’, sent to the CommU Easy will switch the output 1 on.

Warning:

• Pay attention to upper/lower case!

• In order to switch outputs via SMS or telephone, a SIM Card is required.

• If an output is switched either automatically via the inputs, or via SMS/Call you need to pay attention to the

following:

Generally the output switches as a function of the inputs. However an incoming call or SMS has higher priority and the output is switched regardless of the input functions.

Example for an automatic condition: Temp > 25 ° C -> output relay 1 = on

Temp < 23 ° C -> output relay 1 = off The temperature Temp has reached 26 ° C, i.e. the relay 1 is turned on. Now the relay 1 is turned off by a call.

Only when the temperature Temp goes below 23 ° C, and then rises again above 25 ° C the relay 1 would be turned on again.

E.3. Handling counters Description: Meters (with S0-interface) can be connected to the digital inputs. The meter readings can be sent automatically by SMS or

email (daily, weekly or monthly). The readings can be requested via SMS at any time.

User: Enter the telephone numbers and email addresses of the users that have to be alerted. Please enter the name of

these users as well. In case this entry is empty, this person becomes “inactive” and will not be alerted.

Inputs: Now configure the names of the inputs, also note that those inputs, whose names have been deleted cannot be

turned off. All inputs used as meter inputs can be configured here. It is necessary to enter the pulse and unit.

Do not forget to choose the option “Meter Input/Zähleingang”. If a meter start-reading is entered, than this will be visible immediately in the “STATUS”. Only when this is logged i.e. it is also visible in “LOGGING”, is it saved

permanently. It does not get deleted even after resetting the device.

Messages: Here a message is triggered on a regular basis (e.g. monthly), which transmits the meter readings. Please specify whether the message should be sent as an email and /or SMS. Explanations on how to use a meter input

to trigger an alert can be found in Chapter E.4‘Triggering of Alerts/Switching of Outlets through Meters’.

Content of messages: You can assign a device name (in order to distinguish between multiple devices). Now you need to configure

which meter readings will appear in the message. It can also set for each message, whether the meter readings need to be sent or the ”actual consumption” For more detailed information also refer to the chapter ‘E.4

triggering of Alerts / Switching of outputs by Meter’.

SIM options: Here you can set the parameters for the SIM-card. In addition it needs to be specified whether the Emails sent

with SMS (over an automatic SMS-Email Gateway) or over a connected network.

Changing settings via SMS: The following settings can be requested and changed via SMS. The exact descriptions of the required SMS-text can be

found in the chapter G: “Configuration and access through SMS”.

● User name, Telephone Number und Email-Address (command: Bxx)

● Name of the Input (command: Exx)

● Request actual status of device/meters (command : STAT)

Warning:

• In order to switch outputs via SMS or telephone, a SIM Card is required.

E.4. Triggering messages / Switching of Outputs through counters Description: The pulse counters are generally set in such a way that the current counter value is stored in the configured recording

intervals. Example: Recording interval: 1 minute (set under, KONFIG -> Logging ->zyklisch alle 1 Minuten [every 1 minute]). There is a water meter with a pulse of per liter that is used. The current meter reading is 100l.

The initial meter reading can be checked immediately in ‘STATUS '. Only when in the next time stamp it is transferred into ‘LOGGING ', it is stored permanently and is also available even after switching off the device.

In the above example, you can see that in the first minute 3 liters were measured and in the next minute 6 liters. In this example, a valve should be turned on when the rate is reached of more than 5 liters per minute. This valve can only be turned off again, when no more consumption is measured for more than one hour (=3600 seconds).

Once this condition has been activated, the Easy continuously compares the last two cycles of the time stamp. If the

difference of the meter readings is greater than 5, then the switching takes place. If instead of switching an output an alert needs to be triggered, than this happens in accordance with the example stated

above.

The triggering of alerts can be configured separately for each message i.e. which value needs to be sent, the meter

reading or the current and actual consumption. This change can be made under KONFIG '-> “Inhalt” [content]. There the alert to be edited is selected and then the box

needs to be ticked. In the meter readings the values of the current consumption are either sent, configured or cleared. Depending on your settings the SMS / Email will either contain the meter reading (in the above example 109,000 liters) or

the current consumption (in the example above 6.0 liter in the last minute).

E.5. Continuous Data Recording/ Load Profile Description: All inputs and outputs can be recorded continuously. Since meter readings are recorded even the load profiles can be

recorded. The data stored in the internal memory of the device (Flash memory - non-volatile) can either be stored on a regular basis

at the micro-SD memory or sent as an email with .csv attachment file at regular intervals over an existing network. There is also a possibility of storing the data on the micro-SD memory card (backup).

The data of the last day is stored every day at 00:00 in the inserted micro-SD memory card in a separate file. The name of

the file is “Ccyymmdd.csv” - where yy is the year, mm is the month and dd is the recorded day.

Inputs: The names of the inputs can be configured here. If the name of the input is deleted, than inputs that are in use

cannot be switched off. Here, all inputs that will be used for the meter reading need to be configured. Enter the pulse and the unit without fail, and also do not forget to select the option “Zähleingang” [Meter Input], if the

meter is read via a pulse interface.

The name of the inputs must begin with a letter and not a numeral!

Logging: Here you can configure when and why data needs to be recorded. Apart from that you can also configure which signals need to be recorded. Also activate recording on a SD card (backup).

Content of messages: You always have to enter a name for the device (in order to distinguish between multiple devices). This name should not contain any spaces.

SIM-options: Here you can configure the SIM card. If the Logging-data needs to be sent over a connected network, than you

need to select the option ‚E-Mails / Loggingdaten über das angeschlossene Netzwerk versenden’ [Send Emails/Logging Data over the connected network].

Warnings:

• If you want to store data in the Micro SD card than you need to insert the same card in the slot that is provided

for it (order number: CC_131).

• In order to store data on the Micro SD card you need to configure it in the FAT32 format.

Changing settings via SMS: The following settings can be requested and changed via SMS. The exact descriptions of the required SMS-text can be found in the chapter G: “Configuration and access through SMS”.

E.6. Alarm System Functions - Activation and Deactivation Description: Sometimes it is necessary to disable alerts and switching of outputs. For this reason an internal flag is used in the same

manner as an output which can be activated or deactivated by call or SMS. It can also be used as a function of inputs and can be turned on and off. This flag can be used to activate or deactivate the sending of messages and switching of

outputs .The flag can also switch outputs via pulse. The flag is cleared after a voltage breakdown of the external power supply.

Status settings: The required internal flag is called “Anlagenzustand” [system status] and can be activated in the “Zustandseinstellungen” [status settings]. Please be sure to enter a name! It can be used as an additional input

for the messages and/or output settings.

Switching of status via SMS:

The switching of the system status happens via the SMS text that is entered. The switching-SMS must starts always with

the SMS-Password or prefixed with the symbol '#' if the password is disabled.

Example: switch-on System state is SMS with the text, ‘activate alert ', the SMS password is ‘1234’ -> SMS with the text ‘1234 activate alert’ 'to the CommU activates the system status.

Warnings:

• In order to switch outputs via SMS or telephone, a SIM Card is required.

• If an status is switched either automatically via the inputs, or via SMS/Call you need to pay attention to the

following:

Generally the status switches as a function of the inputs. However an incoming call or SMS has higher priority and the output is switched regardless of the input functions.

Example for an automatic condition: Schalter = 1 -> status ein Schalter = 0 -> status aus The switch is on, i.e., the system status is turned on. Now the system status is turned off by a call. Only when

the switch is turned off and then turned on again, does the System status get switched on again.

E.7. Password Protection Description:

If the device is operated in a network, then it is advisable to give access of the device only to authorized persons. A web username and password can be assigned. Because some settings can also be changed via SMS, it is possible, to set an

SMS-password (consisting of 4 digits). If the SMS password is disabled, than instead of the password, the message needs to be prefixed with the symbol’ # ‘.

Security settings: Here the corresponding passwords can be assigned and activated by selecting the respective option.

Changing settings via SMS: The following settings can be requested and changed via SMS. The exact descriptions of the required SMS-text can be found in the chapter G: “Configuration and access through SMS”.

• Web-Username and Web-Password (command: ZD)

E.8. Time Setting Description:

There are several ways to maintain the time (the device does not have a highly accurate, temperature-independent measurement of time; therefore periodic synchronization is required; when the supply voltage is turned off remains date

and time remain as it is): 1. Manual entry of date and time

Content of messages: In the field, the date and time ', the current time is displayed. This can be changed over the button ‘Set’ of the

device.

2. Automatic time update via SMS

SIM-options: In the SMS settings you can synchronize the time automatically via SMS. The device sends an SMS to itself, in order to read from the provider time. The same happens automatically during daylight savings time change.

3. Set time via SMS The time synchronization can always be triggered using an SMS with the command “# UHR”.

E.9. Resetting the device

Most setting on the device can be changed immediately. However, a restart of the device is necessary for the two following changes: 1. Change of Web name and default IP address / subnet mask (set under, KONFIG '->' Sicherheit ') 2. Change of the SIM card - Settings (change under, KONFIG '-> SIM'). The device can be reset either by unplugging the power connector or it can be done by pressing the 'RESET' (to see, KONFIG '-> SIM') button. All configuration data is retained at reset.

Main menu – STATUS:

Current status of the inputs, outputs and internal states.

Main menu – LOGGING:

Display of stored data and states. With the help of filter-function you will get a

quick overview. With the navigation buttons you can scroll

through every page.

The entry „MELD“ in triggerign an alarm Occurs after discountinuation of all alertings

(call / SMS and Email).

Main menu– KONFIG:

In this menu function the most important settings can be done.

A total of 10 sub menus are available. A webcam option in

the model CommU Easy is not available.

CAUTION: If the KONFIG page is appearing very slowly in the web browser, then this could be due to external programs such as, FortiClient '. Such similar programs should de disabled temporarily to access Easy! The main KONFIG menu is divided into the following sub-menus:

Benutzer [users]

Create and delete users with name, phone number and email address.

Eingänge [inputs]

Enable and parameterize the four digital inputs.

Zustand [state]

Enable and adjust the internal states (internal flag).

Ausgänge [outputs]

Activation of the two relay outputs, setting of automatic switching operations.

Webcam Setting and testing a connected webcam; Not available on Easy.

Meldungen [messages]

The individual messages and their trigger conditions.

Inhalt [content]

Setting the content of the sent SMS or email.

Logging Configuring the storage setting as well as setting up the data storage on the micro-SD card.

SIM SIM Configuration: PIN Code, SMS messaging and email settings.

Sicherheit [security]

Setting the browser name, IP and subnet as well as user name and passwords.

Caution: The following special characters should NOT be used: “&” ,”,”, “<”, “>”!!!

Main menu – HARDWARE: Displays the serial number (which ist he

IMEI-number of the internal modem), Software-Version-number of the device

and the status interface. The configuration file of the device can

be stored on and read from the micro-SD-card.

Submenu item – BENUTZER [user]: The list on the left side provides an

overview of the people that are already configured. By clicking on the corresponding

number, the associated settings become visible and can be changed and saved.

A maximum of 12 users can be personalized with name, telephone number and email

address.

Submenu item – EINGÄNGE [inputs]: Settings of used inputs.

The list on the left side provides an

overview of the inputs that are already configured. By clicking on the

corresponding number, the associated settings become visible and can be

changed and saved

Each terminal that is used (DI1 to DI4) must be assigned with a name. This name

must begin with a letter. If the digital input is to be used as a standard input (e.g. for

error messages) it can also be inverted (inversion logic for example to monitor

cable break).

The four digital inputs can also be used as

a pulse counter input. If a start value is entered, it can be monitored via “Status”-

page.

Submenu item – AUSGÄNGE [outputs]:

Programming of switching operations. There are two relay outputs. The relay outputs can

either be automatically switched or at certain

states, or via SMS. Also an output can be switched by calling (either from any number

or only by one of the user numbers.

Warning: Never turn on and off via a call (solution: Use a call to switch on and SMS to

switch off the output). The outputs can also be set to “continous” switch or as a “pulse”

with selectable pulse duration. Minimum delay time Ton: 1 second.

Submenu item – MELDUNGEN [messages]:

Configuring the messages to be sent. The list provides an overview of the messages that

are already configured. By clicking on the

number the associated settings can be changed and saved. There are two different

types of message triggers: Messages can be triggered by events (when inputs or internal

states meet the set conditions) or in a set time interval. In case of triggered messages,

alarms are only sent when the trigger

condition during Ton (xx seconds) is present permanently. Then the message can become

active again only when the trigger condition duting Toff (xx seconds) is not met

permanently. The alert can be sent either by

SMS or email (NOTE: There is no recorded message that is played, the device calls the

number and hangs up). Minimum delay time for Ton or Toff: 1 second.

Submenu item – ZUSTÄNDE [states]:

Visualization of internal device data: There are 4 internal variables that appear on request and can be

logged. Such as current modem state, internal errors, GSM reception quality, SIM-card and system state.

The system state is a freely usable relay. It can be

used to configure the system state “activate” and to trigger messages only under certain conditions. It can

be switched either automatically by inputs or via SMS. Also the state can be switched by calling (either by

any number or only by one of the user numbers). The internal error is triggered if the Micro-SD-card is used

incorrectly (or not present). More information about the cause of the error can be found on the

HARDWARE-page.

two parts: 1. The general part – this is the same for all

messages. It includes the system name, the message text (this is already configured in the

messages) as well as the date and time (this

can also be set there). 2. A part that is dependent on the message.

This part contains the status information and the SMS/Email that is sent along. This part

can be used to configure each message

separately.

What is logged and when it is logged.

Here you can configure what data and signals need to be recorded. In addition,

the automatic data storage on the micro-

SD-card can also be enabled here. Every day at 00:00 the data of the previous day is

stored on the micro-SD-card in a seperate file.

Attention: Please note the settings in this menu carefully. Forgetting this, could result in locking yourself out of the device!

The device works with DHCP. That means that

the device searches the IP address by itself or

gets assigned one. It’s then accessible in the browser under the Webname. If the device is

used in a network administrator should assign a fixed IP address to the device. This should

then be registered under IP/Subnet. This

change in settings is effective only after restarting the external laptop/computer. In

case several devices are connected to the same network, they must all get different

names. Different IP are necessary for each device.

Once the username and password have been assigned, the

website can only be accessed on entering these details. Therefore, please do not forget this!!

You can check username and password via SMS (command ‘ZD’) if forgotten, but therefore you will need a working SIM

in the device. The SMS password can only contain digits. This password should be prefixed on any SMS that is sent to

the system. If no password is set, then the messages must be prefixed with the symbol ‘ # ‘.

Caution: The web interface was tested on Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome 8.0

G. Configuration and access through SMS Many settings can be queried or changed remotely via SMS. In addition, the device status can be queried via SMS at any

time. Each correct command triggers a return SMS message to the mobile number from where the command was sent. Basically, the following points should be noted:

• If a password has been set and activate in the security settings than this password must be prefixed in all the SMS messages that are sent to the device. If the password is disabled then the prefix must be the symbol ‘#’.

Example with password: SMS with text: 8765 STAT Example without a password: SMS with text: # BEN3? The following examples assume for simplicity that the password is disabled

• The individual parameters must be separated by semicolons. • The SMS is automatically limited to 160 characters. All characters in excess of the limit are lost.

Logging intervall / data recording

For data logging, the recording interval from 1 minute to 500 hours can be set. If the data is transferred via GPRS, recording intervals of more than 5 minutes are recommended.

J. Warnings: Installation and commissioning of the device requires special expertise (telecommunications, electrical engineering,). The proper Installation and commissioning needs to be ensured by the operator / buyer. The device may only be wired when the power supply is disconnected. Before installation work and also during commissioning make sure that you discharge static before touching the device or parts of it! In order to prevent wiring problems of the Communication Center Commu Easy, keep the terminals at a distance of at least 4 cm on the wall or cable channels or adjacent equipment. In order to ensure that a line or wire breakage on the signal side does not result in undefined states, take precautions of the signal connection on the hardware and software side. The electromagnetic behavior of the device depends on installation and environmental conditions, and is not under the control of the manufacturer. Therefore, the manufacturer accepts no liability for this behavior. The device may only be used in dry and clean rooms. Protect the device from moisture, splashing, effects of heat and direct sunlight. Do not apply any shocks or vibrations. The warranty does not apply to damage that is caused by failure to observe these instructions. The same applies to changes made to the device by the purchaser / operator or third party persons. The manufacturer accepts no liability for consequential damages. For personal or property damage caused by improper use or failure to observe the safety instructions, manufacturer accepts no liability and excludes any warranty claims arising thereof. GSM / GPRS devices can be potentially explosive, flammable gas mixtures can be ignited by electromagnetically induced sparks. The device must not be used in airplanes, hospitals and other places where usage of GSM / GPRS-based devices is prohibited. Due to HF radiation a GSM / GPRS device can basically be used only with a GSM / GPRS antenna with the corresponding frequency band. The antenna cable must not have any mechanical damage. It is important to ensure that the desired GSM / GPRS network is available in sufficient quality. Otherwise, the proper function of the device cannot be guaranteed. Depending on the GSM / GPRS provider and public holidays, there can be substantial delays in the transmission of SMS messages. Generally providers do not guarantee punctual transmission of SMS messages and emails. The operation of the device in GSM / GPRS network causes telephone costs or costs for data transfer. Depending on the tariff model you may incur an unplanned high cost - please check before you start, make sure your selected plan and the planned application is the same. False or incorrect entry of numbers may lead to the potential high fees. The manufacturer rejects all responsibility over such costs. Through the initial commissioning and the use of the free SMS / email gateways, you accept the "Terms of Use SMS / Email Gateway" (details below http://www.lehotzki.at/AGB).The same applies to the use of the "GPRS Web Platform" (see also Terms of Use under http://www.lehotzki.at/AGB).

K. Warranty and Acceptance of Defects

General Terms of Delivery issued by the Austrian Electrical and Electronics Industry Association (FEEI)

8. Warranty and acceptance of obligation to repair defects 8.1. Once the agreed terms of payment have been complied with, Seller shall, subject to the conditions hereunder, remedy any defect existing at the time of acceptance of the article in question whether due to faulty design, material or manufacture, that impairs the functioning of said article. From particulars

appearing in catalogues, folders, promotional literature as well as written or oral statements which have not been included in the agreement no warranty obligations may be deduced.

8.2. Unless special warranty periods operate for individual items the warranty period shall be 12 months. These conditions shall also apply to any goods supplied, or services rendered in respect of goods supplied, that are firmly attached to buildings or the ground. The warranty period begins at the point of passage of risk acc. to paragraph 6.

8.3. For improved or exchanged parts, the warranty period shall start again, but shall end in any case 6 months after the original warranty period has expired.

8.4. If delivery or the performance of services is delayed for reasons outside the control of Seller, the warranty period shall begin 2 weeks after Seller is ready to deliver or perform services.

8.5. The foregoing warranty obligations are conditional upon the Buyer giving within a reasonable period notice in writing of any defects that have occurred and such notice reaching the Seller. Buyer shall prove within a reasonable period the presence of a defect, in particular he shall make available within a reasonable period to Seller all material and data in his possession. Upon receipt of such notice Seller shall, in the case of a defect covered

by the warranty under 8.1 above, have the option to replace the defective goods or defective parts thereof or else to repair them on Buyer’s

premises or have them returned for repair, or to grant a fair and reasonable price reduction. 8.6. Any expenses incurred in connection with rectifying defects (e. g. Expenses for assembly and disassembly, transport, waste disposal, travel and siteto-quarters time) shall be borne by Buyer. For warranty work on Buyer’s premises Buyer shall make available free of charge any assistance, hoisting

gear, scaffolding and sundry supplies and incidentals that may he required. Replaced parts shall become the property of Seller. 8.7. If an article is manufactured by Seller on the basis of design data, design drawings, models or other specifications supplied by Buyer, Seller’s warranty shall be restricted to non-compliance with Buyers specifications.

8.8. Seller’s warranty obligation shall not extend to any defects due to assembly and installation work not undertaken by Seller, inadequate equipment, or due to non-compliance with installation requirements and operating conditions, overloading of parts in excess of the design values stipulated

by Seller, negligent or faulty handling or the use of inappropriate materials, nor for defects attributable to material supplied by Buyer. Nor shall Seller be li- able for damage due to acts of third parties, atmospheric discharges.Excess voltage and chemical influences. The warranty does not

cover the replacement of parts subject to natural wear and tear. Seller accepts no warranty for the sale of used goods. 8.9. The warranty shall lapse immediately if, without written consent of Seller, Buyer himself or a third party not expressly authorised undertakes modifications or repairs on any items delivered.

8.10. Claims acc. to § 933b ABGB are struck by the statute of limitation with lapse of the period mentioned under point 8.2. 8.11. The provisions of sub-paragraphs 8.1 to 8.10 shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to all cases where the obligation to repair defects has to be accepted

for other reasons laid down by law.
