Effective November 1, 2002 Oklahoma State law 380:25-19-1 allows voluntary adoption of the Oklahoma Boiler Operator license rules by any company, corporation, business, school, city, county or other governmental agency. The law will eventually require mandatory boiler operator licensing.
Currently the law specifies 4 levels of license classification. First class license applicants take a 100 question exam. Second, Third and Fourth class license applicants take a 50 question exam. The law will eventually require each class to take a 100 question, class specific, exam.
Upon successful completion of the Examination, the
Oklahoma State Department of Labor (OSDL) will issue
the applicant a 2-Year, renewable, Boiler Operator
License based on the classification of the applicant.
OSDL will invoice each applicant for the 2-Year license
fee of $50.
