Operate an Automated Military Postal System (AMPS)

PRACTICAL EXERCISE X

OBJECTIVE: This practical exercise is designed to test your general knowledge of being a Postal Supervisor. It also tests your ability to use and navigate through AMPS.

CONDITION: Given the following material listed below, students will accurately prepare and generate the following automated postal documentation via AMPS without error:

1. No. 2 lead pencils2. Computer3. Internet Access4. Consolidated Air Massing and Labeling Scheme (CAMALS)5. DoD 4525.6-M Postal Manual6. Automated Military Postal System (AMPS), Military Post Office (MPO), Custodian of Postal Effects (COPE), and Transportation Access level

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Ensure that your name, class number, and date are on the practical exercisebooklet.

2. This booklet contains 10 questions and 9 situations. You will have 90 minutes to complete this exercise.

3. You MUST achieve an GO to pass this practical exercise. Make all responses clear and legible. Read each situation carefully but move on so that all situations may be answered in the time allotted. If you make a mistake or if you have to change an answer, erase completely and then write in the correct information.

4. Using the materials provided you will:

a. Log onto the AMPS system when prompted to do so.

b. Print out forms when prompted during the practical exercise.

Local Office of Special Investigations (OSI) had suspected this action and the facility had been under surveillance for some time. Surveillance cameras showed the military postal clerk was taking prograde letter class mail from the postal facility. He was apprehended and released from all postal duties awaiting further investigation and final disposition of case. Local authorities opened an active case and assigned it as #234789. You are now required to complete a Postal Report within AMPS. Use today’s date.
