Opening Ceremony • Raps gavel and all members STAND• President: “We are members of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.

Our mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences Education.”

• Officers: “Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and

community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.”

• Members: “As we work toward the accomplishment of our goals, we learn cooperation,

take responsibility, develop leadership, and give service.” • President: “This meeting of the McKinney Boyd Chapter of Family, Career and

Community Leaders of America is now in session. You may be seated.”

• The Meet at the Table committee will be meeting on November 4th to discuss advertisements, the trophy case, and our progress so far. FSCA Study Guides!

• If you plan to take an FSCA, we need people to help us create study guides. Just take the test and the key and create a study guide by forming whole sentences with them.– Chase’s example

• Ask Mrs. Taylor for the test and the key so you can create your own study guide for a specific test (Child Development, Etiquette, Job Interview, etc.).

• You will receive one service hour for helping us out with this!

Bronco Fest Success!

• THANK YOU to the members that helped with this event! It’s because of all of you that it ran so smoothly!

STAR Events and FSCA’s

• IMPORTANT: Members doing a STAR Event will have to pay a $50 fee by November 1st! We know this is short notice, but please go see Mrs. Taylor right after this meeting to determine how you will make this payment.

• Our next STAR Event and FSCA workshop is on November 7th from 2:30-4:00 PM in Mrs. Taylor’s room!

• This workshop is to help you, so please make sure to come to work on ideas and start your STAR Events or study for your FSCA’s!

Movie Night!

• Our movie night for the elementary schools will be on November 1st (this Saturday) at 7:00 P.M! However, if you are planning to volunteer, please make sure to be there at 6:15 so you can receive your volunteer assignment!

• Please wear our current FCCLA shirts and a nice pair of jeans or capris. No holes! Also, make sure to bring a blanket to sit on so you’re not sitting on the cafeteria floor.

• You will receive approximately three participation hours for helping out at this event. Please sign up if you’re interested! Talk to Meredith Schramm or Acacia Browne if you have any questions.

Fundraiser!

If you haven’t returned your bracelets or money yet from our fundraiser, please get those to Mrs. Taylor ASAP!

• We have our 8th grade dance coming up in January/February – We will discuss further details on this later, but we

need to get a committee headed up for this ASAP!• This committee will:
