Dec. 22, at 2:56 p.m., Officer Arn- old Terrazas was dispatched to the 800 block of N. Lake Ave. in regards to cri- minal mischief. Case open for investi- gation. At 3 p.m., Sgt. Steve Nelson met with a subject at the PD in reference to a stolen vehicle. Case open for inves- tigation. At 4:56 p.m., Officer Terrazas was dispatched to the 400 block of Clay St. in regards to criminal mischief. Case open for investigation. At 5:32 p.m., Officer Terrazas, Lt. Wendy Thompson, Chief W.E. Latti- more, Investigator David Wiese and Sgt. Nelson were dispatched to a bicy- clist/train accident in the 200 block of N. Lake Ave. ^ Medic 3 was notified. Constable Darrell Stancik as well as the Eagle Lake Volunteer Fire Department (ELVFD) were called to assist with setting up a landing zone for the Life Flight helicopter. The bicyclist was taken to Hermann Hospital in Houston. Investigation re- vealed the bicyclist had been traveling northbound on N. Lake Ave. approach- ing the railroad crossing. The 116-car train was traveling east. The crossing guard was activated with the arms low- ered, the lights flashing and the bells ringing. Witnesses stated the bicyclist rode his bicycle into the side of one of the first engines as it was going through the crossing. Case open for investiga- tion. Tanya Wiese sought re-election of the Rice CISD Board of Trustees. Garrett Marek, grandson of An- thony and Bernice Kallina of Garwood, won his second gold medal in wres- tling in a tournament held in Dallas. Winners in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art contest were Jacob Gonzales, Daniel Goodwin, Clayton Bowen, Sasha Sharp and Jose Samaniego. Glen Locklier was honored with a plaque of appreciation for his service to Eagle Lake as Fire Marshall for the past 20 years. The city lost long-time resident and ex-mayor Elmer A. Struss. He served the longest consecutive term in the his- tory of Eagle Lake, 16 years. MARCH Stephanie Sommerlatte was named to Provost's List a TLU. The 132U Rookie baseball team took second place in the "Spring Fling" tournament. Julie Rose Rutledge and Brett Ed- ward DeShazo announced their wed- ding plans for April 5, 2003. Mason, Austin and Sean Godwin made their presence known to their parents Sam and Deidra Godwin of Seabrook. Christopher Pauline Mann of San Antonio announced the birth of their first child, Jane Treniese Mann. Best of Show winner at the Hous- ton Livestock Show and Rodeo was Jacob Gonzales, son of Robert and Christine Gonzales of Eagle Lake. Joe Lee McCreary received the Golden Trowel Award. Micaela Garza won the singing competition in Miami, Florida, on Sabado Gigante. A new arrival in the Gertson clan was Tyler Rex Gertson, the son of Andy and Susan Gertson of San Antonio. Eagle Lake General Store received the Purina Top Hand Award. Clayton Watz of Garwood placed in the top 20 in the livestock judging at the Houston Livestock Show & Ro- deo. The Headlight began its 100th vol- ume. Kristen Marie Holder and Wade Edward Satsky announced their en- gagement and approaching marriage to be held in April in Austin. Stephanie Sommerlatte received the Bogisch Scholarship from TLU. New arrivals announced included Amber Ashlyn Brytel Adase, Lawrence William Arnold V, Patricia Irene Cantu and Cora Beth Dvorak. At 12:39 p.m., Chief Lattimore spoke with a subject by phone in ref- erence to a civil matter. At 1 p.m., Officer Terrazas was dis- patched to the 400 block of Clay St. in reference criminal mischief Case open for investigation. At 3:45 p.m., Lt. Thompson met with a subject at the PD in reference to a civil matter. At 5:15 p.m., Sgt. Nelson met with a subject at the PD who turned in a found wallet. Nelson located the owner of the wallet and it was returned. At 6:40 p.m., Officer Cole was dis- patched to the 500 block E. Main St. in reference to a gas drive-off. The sus- pects were located and the gas paid for. At 6:52 p.m., Officer Cole was dis- patched to Hwy. 90A in reference to a possible drunk driver coming into town. Cole waited for the described vehicle at the City limits for some time, but the vehicle did not come into town. Dec. 24, at 1:17 a.m., Officer Cole was dispatched to the 200 block of FM 3013 east in reference to an activated alarm. Building was secured. At 9:30 a.m., Chief Lattimore spoke with a subject by phone in reference to . someone violating the City truck ordi- nance. The truck driver was located and advised of the ordinance. The driver moved the truck. At 2:10 p.m., Officer John Sebas- tian was notified that a railroad cross- ing arm in the 100 block of N. McCarty was damaged. Union Pacific Railroad was notified. At 2:30 p.m., Chief Lattimore was advised of a burning smell at the cor- ner of N. McCarty Ave. and the rail- road alley. The building was checked; no fire was located. At 4 p.m., Officer Sebastian spoke via phone with a complainant in re- gards to a lost dog. Information was received. At 6:29 p.m., Investigator Wiese and Sgt. Nelson were dispatched to the 400 block of W Prairie St. in reference to a 9-1-1 call. Upon arrival, officers learned no one there had called. At 6:30 p.m., Investigator Wiese and Sgt. Nelson were dispatched to the intersection of Hwy. 90A and FM 3013 in reference to a minor traffic accident. Investigation completed; citation is- sued. Dec. 25, at 10:19 a.m., Officer Se- bastian spoke with a subject by phone in reference to a civil matter. At 5:11 p.m., Sgt. Nelson checked the area for several minutes but was unable to locate any loud music. At 6:53 p.m., Investigator Wiese and Sgt. Nelson were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Lake Ave. in reference to a car fire. Officers learned the car had an electrical short and there was not actually a fire. The ELVFD arrived and checked the car out. At 7:50 p.m., Investigator Wiese was dispatched to the intersection of S. Lake Ave. and C Street in reference to possible gunshots. Wiese checked the area for quite some time but did not locate anything suspicious. At 10:42 p.m., Investigator Wiese, Sgt. Nelson and Colorado County She- riff's Deputy Clark were dispatched to the 800 block of Lakeside Dr. in refer- ence to an activated alarm. The build- ing was checked and found to be se- cure at ground level. At 11:27 p.m., Investigator Wiese was dispatched to the 600 block of Sixth St. in reference to a civil matter which originated in New Town. Dec. 26, at 12:26 a.m., Investiga- tor Wiese was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Main St. for crowd con- trol. At 1:55 a.m., Investigator Wiese. located a window which had been bro- ken out of a building in the 500 block of E. Main St. Case open for investi- gation. At 9:22 p.m., Officer Cole was dis- patched to the 500 block of N. McCarty Ave. in regards to suspicious subjects. Cole made contact with the subjects who were identified and released. At 10:02 p.m., Officer Cole was dispatched to the 200 block of Boothe Dr. in regards to kids popping fire- works. The children's parent was con- tacted and made aware of the City or- dinance. Dec. 27, at 2:30 p.m., Officer Ter- razas was contacted by a complainant at the PD in regards to a burglarized vehicle. The complainant reported a .22 rifle and set of binoculars were taken from his pickup. Case open for inves- tigation. At 11:20 p.m., Officer Cole was dispatched to the 300 block of Cem- etery St. in regards to loud music. The music was located and turned down. Dec. 28, at 1:20 p.m., Officer Terra- zas was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Davitt St. in regards to a possible theft. Case open for investigation. At 2:45 p.m., Officer Terrazas spoke to a complainant in regards to illegal dumping. Information was received. At 2:48 p.m., Officer Terrazas was dispatched to the 300 block of Scott St. in regards to a 9-1-1 hang up. A resi- dent was contacted; all was found to be in order. At 5:10 p.m., Sgt. Bryan Lasley was contacted at the PD by a complainant in regards to a possible civil matter. Information was received. At 8:20 p.m., Officer Cole was dis- patched to the 600 block of Willow Lane in regards to loose dogs. Infor- mation was received. At 8:30 p.m., Officer Cole was dis- patched to the 500 block of E. Main St. in regards to a trespasser. Informa- tion was received. At 11:56 p.m., Officer Cole was dispatched to the 400 block of E. State St. in regards to a9-l-l hang up. 3013 east in reference to an activated alarm. Building was secured.

At 9:30 a.m., Chief Lattimore spoke with a subject by phone in reference to . someone violating the City truck ordi- nance. The truck driver was located and advised of the ordinance. The driver moved the truck.

At 2:10 p.m., Officer John Sebas- tian was notified that a railroad cross- ing arm in the 100 block of N. McCarty was damaged. Union Pacific Railroad was notified.

At 2:30 p.m., Chief Lattimore was advised of a burning smell at the cor- ner of N. McCarty Ave. and the rail- road alley. The building was checked; no fire was located.

At 4 p.m., Officer Sebastian spoke via phone with a complainant in re- gards to a lost dog. Information was received.

At 6:29 p.m., Investigator Wiese and Sgt. Nelson were dispatched to the 400 block of W Prairie St. in reference to a 9-1-1 call. Upon arrival, officers learned no one there had called.

At 6:30 p.m., Investigator Wiese and Sgt. Nelson were dispatched to the intersection of Hwy. 90 A and FM 3013 in reference to a minor traffic accident. Investigation completed; citation is- sued.

At 6:53 p.m., Investigator Wiese and Sgt. Nelson were dispatched to the 500 block of N. Lake Ave. in reference to a car fire. Officers learned the car had an electrical short and there was not actually a fire. The ELVFD arrived and checked the car out.

At 7:50 p.m., Investigator Wiese was dispatched to the intersection of S. Lake Ave. and C Street in reference to possible gunshots. Wiese checked the area for quite some time but did not locate anything suspicious.

At 10:42 p.m., Investigator Wiese, Sgt. Nelson and Colorado County She- riff's Deputy Clark were dispatched to the 800 block of Lakeside Dr. in refer- ence to an activated alarm. The build- ing was checked and found to be se- cure at ground level.

At 11:27 p.m., Investigator Wiese was dispatched to the 600 block of Sixth St. in reference to a civil matter which originated in New Town.

Dec. 26, at 12:26 a.m., Investiga- tor Wiese was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Main St. for crowd con- trol.

At 1:55 a.m., Investigator Wiese. located a window which had been bro- ken out of a building in the 500 block of E. Main St. Case open for investi- gation.

At 9:22 p.m., Officer Cole was dis- patched to the 500 block of N. McCarty Ave. in regards to suspicious subjects. Cole made contact with the subjects who were identified and released.

At 10:02 p.m., Officer Cole was dispatched to the 200 block of Boothe Dr. in regards to kids popping fire- works. The children's parent was con- tacted and made aware of the City or- dinance.

Dec. 27, at 2:30 p.m., Officer Ter- razas was contacted by a complainant at the PD in regards to a burglarized vehicle. The complainant reported a .22

rifle and set of binoculars were taken from his pickup. Case open for inves- tigation.

At 11:20 p.m., Officer Cole was dispatched to the 300 block of Cem- etery St. in regards to loud music. The music was located and turned down.

Dec. 28, at 1:20 p.m., Officer Terra- zas was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Davitt St. in regards to a possible theft. Case open for investigation.

At 2:45 p.m., Officer Terrazas spoke to a complainant in regards to illegal dumping. Information was received.

At 2:48 p.m., Officer Terrazas was dispatched to the 300 block of Scott St. in regards to a 9-1-1 hang up. A resi- dent was contacted; all was found to be in order.

At 5:10 p.m., Sgt. Bryan Lasley was contacted at the PD by a complainant in regards to a possible civil matter. Information was received.
