Reading Reading Habits
Read independently
Vocabulary & Word Work Strategies used to figure out
word meanings.
Comprehension & Connections Strategies used before,
during, and after reading.
Accelerated Reading (AR) Students:
Read novels from a wide ranging list and then take short computer quizzes to test comprehension.
Earn points based on the difficulty of the book and their performance on the quiz.
Are expected to keep a Reading Log to document their reading at home. Each week they need to read for a minimum of 80 minutes (20 min/day).
