Transcript of Open hole log evaluation course 2015
Course overviewWeatherford Canada Petroleum Consulting has been teaching open hole log analysis courses for over 10 years. This course is designed for individuals who want to learn basic open hole log analysis or need a refresher. The two-day course will give you an insight into the theory, operation, and petrophysical application of open hole logging tools such as Gamma Ray, Spontaneous Potential, Resistivity, Neutron, Density, and Sonic. Utilizing open hole data you will learn how to determine lithology, shale volume, porosity, permeability, rock mechanical properties, acoustic anisotropy, stress direction, and saturation and use these concepts to evaluate reservoir quality in horizontal and vertical wells. Attendees will also be introduced to some advanced offerings, including conveyance methods, horizontal well logging, borehole imaging, cross dipole sonic, and geomechanics. The course will include a practical log workshop to apply the theory to Canadian log examples.
