‣ DPADM is the Devision of Public Administration and Development Management of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA)

DPADM & Open Government Data
‣ DPADM has been conducting research on Open Government Data since 2010. OGD is relevant to DPADM’s work as it is an online government service (e-government) and an important initiative that strengthen participatory governance.

‣ OGD is a vital part of any Open Government policy as it allows citizens to understand how the government works and thereby can help to improve accountability, transparency and citizen engagement.
‣ OGD allows citizens to be aware of important issues and to be part of the decision-making process to address policy issues.
