Presenter
Therefrom he has a magnesium deficiency
Presenter
He wonders how much tap water he would have to drink to compensate
Presenter
So he calls the 'Berliner Wasserwerke'
Presenter
They want to help him, but getting the answer takes time … … long time
Presenter
There are also other citizens of Berlin who request similar information, such as the percentage of calcium, iron, …  → Wasserwerke get stressed
Presenter
But they have a very smart idea …
Presenter
“Berliner Wasserwerke” decides to publish all their water dater on the German open data portal
Presenter
Now, Marco can download detailed information on the water quality and make informed choices.  Marco is happy.

Presenter
And others, like the smart programmer Vanessa, take the datasets and make a useful apps out of the data …
Presenter
Or Mara. She made an interactive map of Berlin showing water data and flows
Presenter
Some of these apps actually become profitable  and startup companies take over further development ...  This generates tax revenue for the city.
Presenter
Also, people start caring more about the water quality in their neighborhood.  They start protests whenever the quality drops a certain point, which keeps Berlins water quality up.
