Sunday, June 12th, Pentecost Sunday, is a full day of celebration at Centerpointe. The morning Worship Schedule remains the same and at 6:00 p.m. we will continue the celebration with a Prayer and Praise Service in the Sanctuary. We will be joined by the congregation of Christ Chapel Mountain Top in Manassas. Water Baptism will be part of this special service for both congregations.

If you have not yet followed the Lord in Water Baptism, the Centerpointe family would like to celebrate with you! Those interested should contact Debbie Moore no later than Wednesday, June 10th.

Kidz Pointe: “Imagine the Impossible” The Faith Series | Sundays at 10:45 a.m. |Fellowship Hall

The kids will look for evidence of their faith – trusting in what you can’t see, because of what you can see – as they learn about God’s creation, God’s promise to Abraham, Joseph remaining faithful, and God’s people crossing the Red Sea.

Kidz ExcursionSaturday, June 4th, 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.The weather is getting warm and we’re shaking off the winter blues. On Saturday, June 4th, Pastor John Carter and the team are taking your kids to the Cub Run Recreation Center and CiCi’s Pizza for an afternoon of water-fun and pizza. This event is open to all children grades K-6. The cost is $20 per child. Please feed the kids lunch before dropping them off at 12:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Family Movie Night Friday, June 10th, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

It’s that time again! Break out your blankets and lawn chairs for an evening of fun and fellowship on the Centerpointe Church lawn. Our feature presentation will be “Tangled.” Free popcorn, juice, and water will be available throughout the evening. The snack bar, which features hot dogs, nachos, snow cones, soda, and other snacks, will open at 7:00 p.m. The movie will begin at 8:15 p.m.…..or whenever it gets dark. Don’t forget to bring a friend! All of our movies are family-friendly and are screened ahead of time.

Father’s Day Outing Saturday, June 11th, 6:30 p.m.All girls K-8th grade are invited to bring their Dads and Grandpas to a fun-filled evening of Putt-Putt golf and ice cream. This will take place at Putt-Putt at Woody’s famous “Perils of the Lost Jungle” golf course in Herndon at the reduced rate of $5, followed by ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Fliers with further details will be passed out during Missionettes and Kidz Church. They will also be available in the bin under the Missionette bulletin board.

TWO FUND RAISERS for the National Fine Arts Festival

Many of our youth are preparing for the National Fine Arts Festival that will be held in Phoenix, Arizona in early August. Part of that preparation is fun-draising. Wakepointe will be offering opportunities for the congregation to help us raise those funds through the summer months. Two are listed below but there will be others, so watch for details! Thank you, in advance, for your prayers and support.

Krispy Kreme Fundraiser: June 5th, 12th, and 19th

On June 5th, 12th, and 19th, you may place your orders for some yummy Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Order a box for yourself and a friend. All orders should be picked up on Sunday, June 26th in the lower level of the church.

Wakepointe Car Wash: Saturday, June 18th, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Whether you need your car washed or would like to help us wash the cars, we could use your help For more information regarding either fundraiser, contact Pastor John Carter at [email protected] or call the church office at 703.591.4284.

Art Classes

Classical Conversations has contracted artist Barry Stebbing to hold a three-day art class Monday, June 13th through Wednesday, June 15th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Classes will be held in the Fellowship Hall and are open to ages 5 yrs to adult. Cost is $32 per student. In addition, each student will need at least a standard set of 12 colored pencils and a standard set of 8 washable markers. For your convenience, art materials will be available for purchase on the first day of class. You can register for the class at http://www.howgreatthouart.com/showdates.

Royal Rangers | Boys and Young Men Grades K-8Lower Level Classrooms

Royal Rangers is a ministry for boys. Our aim is to instruct, challenge, and inspire boys in areas of Bible knowledge, Christian service, moral conduct, and basic beliefs of our church through interesting activities that boys enjoy. What makes it unique is the combination of Christian principles with the fun and adventure of outdoor activities.

Missionettes | Girls and Young Women Grades K-123rd Floor Classrooms

Missionettes is a ministry for girls and young women to equip them to become all that God has planned for them to be. The focus of the ministry is to see every girl moving toward a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Missionettes also exists to empower girls to realize their importance and potential in God’s Kingdom.

Celebrating 100 years in BrazilSunday, June 5th, 5:00 p.m., Sanctuary

New Life in Christ Church is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Assembly of God missionaries in Brazil on Sunday, June 5th at 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Pastor Keith is the guest speaker. Please make plans to attend and rejoice with them about what God has done and will continue to do in Brazil.

Angel Food Ministries

Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and financial support to communities throughout the US. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 44 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each food order.
