• The VLD contains the comprehensive patristic records ofthe Vetus Latina Institut in Beuron.

• Study of the Latin versions of the Bible preceding theVulgate.

• Due to the success of the Vulgate, the direct textualtradition of the Vetus Latina is meager.

• The basic sources are the biblical citations or allusionsfound within the writings of the Church Fathers.
