The Client
Viva Print is a versatile printer from Czech Republic specializing in offset,
digital, and inkjet printing. Highly customer centric in approach, Viva Print is
always looking to automate its processes and reduce its operational cost.
They then pass on these savings to their customers by way of reduced
product prices. Their mission is to make their print services flexible, easily
accessible, and affordable without compromising on profitability.
Requirements
When Viva Print first approached us their fundamental objective was to
reduce their ultimate product cost. Ancillary to this came their need to better
manage the product quality and business processes. So essentially they
were looking for a solution that could help them lower their cost of
operations and make them more manageable, and improve quality of their
services. We believed web to print was the answer to their needs. But before
we could develop anything concrete for them we had to sort out their
requirement in detail. So we decided to break down their broad requirement
into smaller parts.
Viva Print’s first requirement was that the solution should be easy to
comprehend and use for their end customers.
Secondly, the solution should carry their business branding.
Viva Print further wanted to display the entire range of their products
and services for their customers to see on the solution.
They wanted the ability to manage the products and services displayed
on the solution.
They wanted some sort of online designing interface for their
customers to use and create their own product designs.

They were also interested in offering some ready to use
designs to their customers for different products.
Moving on from online designing, they wanted to allow their customers
to place orders through the same solution.
They wanted to allow their customers to make payments and arrange
for delivery again from the solution itself.
They wanted a facility that allowed them to disclose the order cost to
their customers at the time of order placement itself.
They were further interested in issuing an order receipt notice to their
customers when the order was placed.
They also wanted the ability to track the orders in their system.
They wanted their system to capture customer details and store them
in a secure place.
They wanted to retain control over the product prices put up on the
solution and any other published content.
Radix Approach
In Viva Print’s case, we knew we had to take a different approach and be
highly explanatory when it came to their solution. While they knew what
they wanted their solution to do on greater business level they were not sure
how it would work on out the operational level. The other thing that they
seemed apprehensive about was their targeted market. They didn’t know if
the solution would be suitable for their market. So we decided to adopt a
consultative approach for Viva Print. We gave them the necessary
handholding and solution walkthrough to help them better understand its
operational level implications. This helped us build Viva Print’s confidence in
our solution. It also encouraged them to be more involved in the
development phase and share their inputs with us.

The Solution
Viva Print has always believed that the two things that matter the most to
customers are price and service. They adopted web to print to excel on both
these fronts. While the solution’s automated processes reduced their
operational cost and ultimately product prices, web to print also made their
business proactive in customer service.
The highlights of their solution are as follows:
We developed their solution with a frontend that held great visual
appeal, simple to use navigation pattern, and their business branding.
We have developed a product gallery in the solution where Viva Print
can display their full range of products and services.

The system admin for Viva Print can add unlimited number of products
to this product gallery and expand their product line in the future.
For any product, Viva Print’s customers can create their own designs,
use designs offered by Viva Print, or upload a ready artwork if they
have any.
We have integrated a dynamic template management system in Viva
Print’s storefront which allows their admin to host design templates for
customers.

Here again the system admin can add unlimited number of design
templates to the template gallery for different products.
We have developed a search facility in their storefront for customers to
search for templates.
We have integrated an online designer studio with a slew of designing
tools to enable Viva Print’s customers to edit and personalize these
templates or create their own custom designs.

This online studio generates a low resolution digital preview for
the customers to review and approve the design before printing.
The studio generates a 300DPI print-ready PDF file as final output.
For customers who have a ready artwork, we have developed an
upload centre in the solution.
We have integrated a real-time calculator in Viva Print’s storefront
which allows their customers to calculate their order cost upfront.
We have integrated an advanced shopping cart system in their online
print store for online order procurement.
This shopping cart system has integrated payment gateway and
shipping gateway which encourages online payments and makes
product deliveries easy.
The solution’s order management system makes order tracking easy
by assigning unique ID to every order.

The system admin can issue order confirmations to customers
from this order management feature. This order confirmation shall
summarize product details, payment details, shipping details,
customer comments if any, etc.
The solution has a dedicated customer account which stores customer
contact info, billing and invoicing details, order histories, designs
saved, etc.
This dedicated customer account also provides an images library to the
customers to store images of their choice.
Viva Print can use the solution’s content management system to
publish design guidelines, delivery terms, client testimonials, etc.
Star Features
For Viva Print customer service and satisfaction topped the priority list. They
envisioned the same objective for their web to print solution as well. Now
our standard solution features were enough to help them enhance their
customer service. However, we custom developed a few features for them
which has taken their customer satisfaction to a whole another level.
Language Localization
Viva Print’s target market was Czech Republic. Their client sheet analysis
showed that a major chunk of their revenues stemmed from their local
market. In such case developing the whole solution in English language only
didn’t make sense. It was important that their customers relate to their
online print store and feel comfortable transacting with them. So we added
Czech language support to their storefront. Now their customers can see
their print store in Czech language and connect better with their business.

Studio Localization
We have taken the language localization aspect a step further by integrating
Czech language support in their online designer studio. They had customers
who preferred getting their products printed in the local language only. To
facilitate this, we integrated Czech language characters in their online
designer studio. So moving away from the default English language, their
studio can now allow product personalization in Czech language.
Metric Based Development
We further customized the storefront’s development for Viva Print. During
our initial discussions, Viva Print had requested that their solution be
developed using the metric system. So we obliged them by marking the
measurements of their storefront in MM under the metric system.
Video Hosting Feature
Viva Print had already used the solution’s content management system to
publish FAQs and design guide for customers. But they were also looking for

some sort of visual tutorial to enhance the level of assistance they
provided to their customers. So we custom developed a video hosting facility
in their storefront which allowed them to host “how-to” videos for online
designing. They have further used this video hosting facility to embed
popular videos from broadcasting giant YouTube. This way, they are carrying
out very effective marketing campaigns and promoting various print
products through their storefront.
