LET’S TALK ABOUT THE PRESENT
• The Present is the result of what we collectively did in the Past;
• The Convergence of the following have lead to our Present:
• Our Decisions, Choices, Actions, Efforts, Plans, Labour, Inventions, Innovations and Transactions
• We are all collectively responsible for the State of the Present
• We are all collectively responsible for how the Present came about
LET’S TALK ABOUT THE FUTURE
• Similarly to the Present, the Future is what we are making it
• We are all collectively responsible for the Future
• The Future is a direct outcome of the Convergences of Occurrences & Developments in the Present and the Past
• The Occurrences & Developments of the Present and the Past leading to the Future are a result of:
• Our Collective Decisions, Choices, Actions, Efforts, Plans, Labour, Inventions, Innovations and Transactions
• We are effectively inventing the Future (Collectively)
• The key word is “Convergence”
THE FUTURE WE ARE INVENTING
• Mass-Automation
• Robotisation
• Virtualisation
• Mass-Integration
• “SMART” World
• Limitless Communication
PICTURE OF OUR FUTURE
• Singapore and London to pilot-test Autonomous Vehicles on roads before end of 2015
• Japan to have world’s first completely Robot-run Hotel before end of 2015
• F&B Outlet in Singapore piloting Drone Waiters in 2015
• 3D-Printed Solar Powered car unveiled by University Students in Singapore in 2015
• Brain-to-Brain Communication Successfully Tested between India and France in 2014
THE RESULTS THAT AWAIT
• Blue Collar Jobs will Disappear
• White Collar Jobs we know today will Decrease
• Anything Repetitive or Quantitative will be Automated
• Automated Commerce (a-Commerce) will be a dominant Business Model
• Human-free
• We will have severely damaged our Environment and Climate along the way (will need Fixing)
• We are a Major Existential Risk upon ourselves
• There will be new Opportunities and Needs for Human Contribution
• At Higher Intellectual Levels
THE PROBLEM
• The Current Education System of the World is not Helping:• Us to prepare for our survival in our Future that we are creating
• Us to develop the Labour Force necessary for the Future that we are creating
• The Global Education System of Today:• Is preparing our children for competencies required for jobs or types of occupational work
that will no longer exist
• Is not preparing our children for competencies required for new jobs or new types of occupational work that will come into existence
• Is not ensuring supply of enough graduates for the Future that is coming
• There is a mismatch between the Output that the Education System is or will be Producing and the Input the Economy ahead will require
THE NEED
• Meritocracy
• Access to Education
• Incentivised Education
• Free Education
• Free of Cost
• Free of Restriction
• Free of Limitation
• Needs-Based Learning (Needs of the student)
• Strength-Based Learning (Strength of the student)
• Customised Education
